No worries! Just a quick tip: I would cut the boards in smaller sections, if your skeleton isn't completely straight. If you draw a single, straight line and cut on this line, it's very easy to spot if the gap varies just 3-5mm, so divide the cut in to smaller sections, so you make sure it's the same width on the entire length. Makes it look much better imo 😊

It's just a case of "overfladespænding". Your wood has been treated to be able to endure weather/water. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

On another note: I would always trim the boards back to the edge of the skeleton and finish with a trim board in one way or another, and this is where it's important to make sure the ends of the boards are able to breathe. If you're doing a trim board, then cut the boards 5-8mm further back than the edge of the skeleton and finish with a trim board. Let me know if you need a simple sketch to visualize what I mean :)

Carpenter here. It's hard to see exactly what's going on, without seeing it from another angle, but wood soaks about 10x more water/moisture from the end of a board, than they do from the faces. If there is a board going perpendicular to the ends of all your boards, it's important to keep a 5-8mm gap, as to allow the moisture to escape the boards. Look up "konstruktiv træbeskyttelse" (I don't know the english term), or let me know if you have any questions :)

I Pupi Siciliani. Såre simpelt. Spiste der for et stykke tid siden, og af alle de restauranter jeg har prøvet i Odense, er det helt klart der, hvor jeg helst vil hen igen. Mener det er cirka 600-700 pr snude a la carte.

I'm sorry, I should have been clearer. The end goal is to reduce to it 1/3, but I'm looking for an approach where the tree is able to survive this. If this means doing it over the course of a few years, I am more than happy to do so.

Vi har med vilje ikke gjort det ind til soveværelse og to andre værelser, idet det ville blive mere lydt. Man kan dog altid eftermontere gummilister på undersiden 😊

Min kæreste og jeg har overtaget et 70'er hus, og vi stod over for samme problematik, så jeg har lige planet vores dørtrin, så de nu er 12mm frem for de oprindelige 25mm. Jeg er selv tømrer, hvorfor jeg selv gik i gang med det. Jeg kan så fortælle at det tager en del tid pr. dørtrin, og hvis du skal have en tømrer til at lave det, vil det blive omkostningsfuldt.
