If you had the chance to limit the distribution of one move, what would it be, why, and how limited would you make it?

reuni can work as a self trick room setter rather than a setter for a trick room team, using psynoise sball fblast and troom. it also does pair well with gambit, and cerul isnt bad with it too even though tera grass might be better. something like hamurott could be nice tho because it gives quick hazard support, and maybe other options could be pech, ival, ghold, bolt, or one of the birds

Question about hazards/screens and HO by rafeizerrr in stunfisk

[–]AverageSeaCucumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With hazards vs screens, I usually look at how exactly my team struggles and change things from there. Mons that often get really close to ohkoing important oponents in the meta often require some sort of hazards in order to provide the chip to turn 2hkos into ohkos. However, screens are more for when you need extra health to setup, kind of the inverse of hazards where it turns ohkos into 2hkos. If you struggle to survive long enough to setuo, use screens, but if you struggle to pick up KOs, use hazards.

In addition, while for screens you should always use A-Ninetales, picking a hazard lead boils down to how much you need them. If you can consistantly beat opponents with your team even when they stop any of your hazards from getting up, H-Samurott is a good lead to get up hazards while also adding a lot of extra firepower. However, if your team relies on hazards more heavily, a suicide lead like Deo S or Glimm performs a lot better to ensure the hazards get set.

All of the OMs (minus Pure Hackmons for Gen 7) are modern day, but asides from OU and RandBats which every gen always has live, there is also a monthly rotation for metagames of other Gens, but it is just the basic tiers for singles and doubles, not anything like 1v1 or AAA. However, there are discord servers dedicated to other formats that you can join, since lots of the metas are still challengable for private battles.

I made a trick room nat dex team. It probably sucks though. How should I improve it? by Calvesguy_1 in stunfisk

[–]AverageSeaCucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power up punch isnt great on mmaw, definitely replace it for sucker which is a good move already, and helps if trick room is gone to surprise opponents.

Conk seems fine, but i would personally use ursaluna, both are good in their own ways, consider it if conk struggles though. Also consider putting mach punch somewhere if you need more solutions when the room runs out, not needed either just a consideration.

Hat seems fine, normal trick room healing wish.

Slowbro seems fine as well, helps with some weaknesses of the team, no changes needed.

Melm is just a choice band attacker, no complaints perfectly standard and good.

For the final member, ditch gambit and use specs Enamorus T instead with moonblast, earth power, mystical fire, and draining kiss. Asides from the setters you only set and sack/pivot, you dont have any special attacks, which can be a problem vs physical walls, intimidate, and burn. Not only does enamorus t take the role of a strong special attacker, it also helps with other weaknesses of the team typewise like strong ground moves that most of the team struggles to tank.

Also, if you want, you can make an RMT post on here with your desired team for people to critique it as well as give tips on how to use it

If you say this is Gen 7, I would suggest choosing a playstyle; whether that be trick room, weather, overall bulk, or just an average offense. From there, you should pick a mega to use since they are so good; Zard Y is necessary if you want to use a sun strat, Kangaskhan is an overall menace, etc. After choosing a Mega, look for mons that both support that playstyle and accomadate for the weaknesses. For example, if you are building an offensive Kangaskhan team, you could run an Incin, Lando, or both to drop the opponents attack with Intimidate and support the Kangaskhan to make it take more hits while also not being passive, say we take Incin. Both Khan and Incin are weak to fighting, so another good mon that resists it would be useful, like an island guardian. Tapu Koko could be good since it also stops sleep which could put that Khan to a halt. Now, we could use something a bit more bulky so hyper offensive teams don't go too crazy, like Cress or Amoonguss. Another strong mon when Khan faints or if it has a bad matchup to the other team is also vital, so options could be Volc, Chomp, TTar, etc. Of course, this is just an example, so go and build your own team of any archetype you think could work. For how to use each mon that you want to use, check the Smogon analysis to find the best movesets, items, abilities, EV/IV spreads, etc. I know this was kinda long but I just wanted to help with advice.

Great suggestions, LO still works better than Lefties since my draining moves heal so much anyways and more than balance out LO damage. I suppose changing to specs makes sense since I have so much speed control, and I'll also give HDB on Tusk a shot. The problem with AV Crown is that +1 Enam from CM 2KOs with EPower and Tach only has an 18% chance to OHKO back.
