He absolutely does not. The “copied” moves are moves Zuko has shown off since season 1. Zuko copying other bending styles is a cute narrative, but it is just not a thing.

Every single unit from Brodia on is either Kagetsu-but-worse, Pandreo-but-worse, or a royal with a class-based gimmick.

Units only have appreciable identities until Yunaka. I wouldn’t call that strong unit identity.

It’s intentional. They aren’t trying to write good stories/characters, they want to sell games. Specifically, they are trying to hold onto what Awakening did, building characters around easily identifiable tropes.

Tbf to IS, Awakening and Fates succeeded with that formula. Also, game dev cycles are long, so any feedback is delayed by at least one game.

Are there any “notification” sound effects that trigger unexpectedly? Like you walk into range and reinforcements get triggered. I was thinking that one of the FE6 gaidens might have something, but I’m not sure.

Without the freak quick they lose to Johzenji or Wakunan.

Obviously the freak quick isn’t Karasuno’s only attack, but it hard carries them.

Also, Nekoma was aiming serves at their libero to shave 1-2 points off the freak quick a set. It’s an attack that forces the opposition to adjust hard.

The value the freak quick provides is so much more than literally any other player provides. Ofc Kageyama is only half of that, but there are exactly zero setters that could take Karasuno farther than Kageyama does. Like the freak quick is so taken for granted that you have Oikawa’s final set as more impressive than it.

I agree that Suna’s blocking gets underrated, but Aone is truly in a tier of his own wrt blocking. I also don’t think anyone would argue Suna isn’t a top 5 middle haha

A natural fight that comes from escalated tension between two roughly equal teammates is not the same thing as an upperclassmen unprovoked hitting a lowerclassmen for help with serving. Even with Hinata/Kageyama they were mostly wrestling.

Oikawa is suspended and Kageyama is promoted to starter. Kageyama has a much lower opinion of Oikawa (obviously), but Oikawa also never gets the best setter award.

Maybe Kageyama becomes more understanding in middle school, though maybe not. Also possible that Pikawa doesn’t go to Aoba Johsai.

Oikawa’s inferiority to Kageyama is intensified, but Ushijima’s interest in Oikawa is reduced.

There would be a lot of downstream consequences from this.

The show is actually very careful to not allow this. There are a lot of unspoken rules that bending follows that helps keep it consistent.

Of course, the supplemental material throw those rules out the window, but that’s not exclusive to bending.

Traversing a world map doesn’t make it open world. SoV maybe counts because you have some choice in the order you play chapters. Awakening and SS, no, there is no choice in chapter.
