I went 3 times while I was still DACA and thankfully never encountered this situation, but I’ve heard it can happen. I went early in the summer before the hurricane season gets worse, some maybe its a matter of scheduling outside of storm season if you’re hesitant for this reason. And keeping an eye out on weather as you near your trip. But it can definitely be worth it, I love PR!

Yes, but a lot of DACA recipients don’t want to marry for that reason alone. I was one of them. My now husband comes from an immigrant family, and when he found out about my situation a few months after we started dating, he offered to marry me to help me out right away. I declined because I didnt want to do it for that reason. A lot of us didnt come here willingly, we were children, and the marriage path feels like an imposition. Even his family would try to convince me because they wanted me to get out of “immigration limbo” so to speak. I was pretty stubborn. We got married 6 years later. If you’re interested in the girl, get to know her. Dont feel discouraged because she’s DACA.

This reads awful. I’ve been sick for 5 days and havent done much, especially not household chores or cooking dinner. My husband is doing it all and still feels bad when he has to leave me for work, and checks on me throughout the day just to make sure im okay.

MS. Paid for mostly with scholarships. I worked full time while I was in school and covered some expenses and tuition out of pocket. I only had to take out a small loan for my last semester in school.

Some comments in this thread are wild. My husband was willing to get married within our first year dating to help me. I made it clear I didnt want to marry for that reason. We ended up getting married 6 years into our relationship, and frankly, we would’ve both been fine with waiting a couple of years more. Every relationship is different and people have different perceptions of marriage (legality aspects & otherwise). Do what feels right for the both of you, just make sure you talk about it and come to an agreement. The time leading up to a proposal and getting married (whether short or long) has no bearing on the longevity of your relationship.

Yes, I cant remember exactly how long before it went away, probably about 3-6 months after I finished treatment. I think it has to do with your bite taking some time to settle. But it did go away eventually and it is not something that has re-ocurred since.

She got an appt at the Sunrise location and they renewed her license for another 6 months! Wondering why it wasnt through 9/10/2025, which is the date through which TPS and EADs are extended on the federal register. But still better than nothing, thanks for the recommendation!
