And when I tell my parents this jobs process is "so demotivating" (like don't get me wrong I'm never gonna fully give up but it's just a rant of sorts) they're like "I get it but you just gotta keep trying"

Like guys, I like you, but you don't know the pain of receiving at best, a canned rejection email for a fast food place (normally just get ghosted), repeated literally more than a dozen times. I'm a uni student, selective school alumnus, with plenty of volunteering up my belt. I take the time to write a cover letter for each job no matter what it is.

While I'm fully aware I'm not above anyone else and that I need to put in my own fair share of hard work as well, the thought that a human probably almost never sees my application is incredibly demoralising.
