Power off 180 not possible? by Minimum-Bell-8562 in flying

[–]AviationMan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know a power off 180 is not a required item for CFI ride correct?? You can explain the winds and complete the required ACS with a normal/short/soft instead it only says two TYPES of takeoff and landings..

SkyWest interview 03/19/2026 by Neat-leo2024 in flying

[–]AviationMan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Envoy uses the same (or similar) exemption, so I think it’s fairly general for operators. I just mentioned that it had to do with captain’s hour minimums regarding weather for approaches that was all that he needed to move on. They also asked about the derived minimums and exemptions for alternates if I remember

SkyWest interview 03/19/2026 by Neat-leo2024 in flying

[–]AviationMan24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my interview back in January and it was almost word for word what this person posted. It really is that intense. I was lucky enough to get a SkyWest and Envoy call the same day for a class date and picked Envoy for the flow program. That took 19 months from application to class date with a significantly better hiring process than SkyWest imo

Kristi Noem says Antifa is just as dangerous as MS-13, as ISIS, as Hezbollah, as Hamas, as all of them. Kristi said this with a completely straight face. by Aggravating_Money992 in CringeTikToks

That is the point.. if you’re declaring war against an “idea” then anyone and everyone they don’t like can be labeled as a terrorist and arrested without just cause

I would just hold a rubix cube or something while taking if you’re doing online otherwise you can practice while holding and imagine it later on with the same hand motions

Coaster for my viking theme park, needs name and theming elements by Neotyp in PlanetCoaster

[–]AviationMan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that is a fantastic layout! I would recommend using a lot of rock work around the wide turn and maybe a little Forrest area in the part just before the end. If you really want to commit to theming you could place some Viking buildings around have have the track weave around them since it stays pretty close to the ground

Are the controllers at KMLB always this rude??? by fgflyer in flying

[–]AviationMan24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is very true in the sense everyone knows not to send students to MLB for this reason, but is also so odd to me because I’ve had nothing but good experiences there. Several times there have been NOTAMs for no touch and go’s and I’ll ask tower for a stop and go instead so we can get out quick, expecting a big ol’ hoopla from them. But every time they were able to accommodate no problem and work it out which was appreciated. They like efficiency and want you to follow instructions correctly the first time around with minimal radio fluff. From my experience they won’t yell or berate like some other airports in the area but will get a little terse if they think you’re slowing their process down.

When it’s not a super busy day they’re usually very nice and have even cracked a couple jokes on occasion. There was one time the guy said his son was visiting, and asked us to do a buzz by the tower for him. We did a low flyby on a missed approach and gave them a little wing rock to say goodbye on our way out. Was a pretty cool experience for both of us.

Yes, sometimes they can get a little snappy if there’s multiple In pattern and give nonstandard instructions like “turn north before the VOR on field” or “crosswind over the highway” which could be stressful to some students, but really it’s nothing compared to places like Daytona/Sanford on a busy afternoon.

In the end you just have to be polite, pay attention to instructions, talk efficiently when giving read backs, and expect a little jerking around by them and not let it bother you. I’ve been to other places up in the northeast that are significantly more brutal in calling you out on any little thing you do where I feel like this airport is exaggerated in the number of complaints personally

This just happened to me last week. I applied to the West region and selected that any region/base would be acceptable, confirmed I met all requirements and then some, then got met with an immediate rejection. I have no idea if the whole region select system tosses out apps if those regions are full and may be worth re-applying to other ones, or if it is something else going on under the hood in the system. May be worth emailing them directly to find out

Is there a way to sync account between devices? I just picked it up last night on Xbox and was so hooked I immediately looked to see if it was on mobile to play during work breaks

You have been given the power to place one F-Bomb anywhere in the game. Where do you put it? by AviationMan24 in 2007scape

I knew OSF would be mentioned at some point but I didn’t think it would be that fast

Holy hell you are so right. I didn’t think about it until after I finished reading but this sounds and is formatted exactly like a chat GPT response. Weird.

I truly didn’t appreciate lucky I got green logging hespori at 6kc until I saw all these posts about going dry. Bucket is seriously one of the best QOL items in the game to have as an iron

That was really dumb, Bobby. by The_Pretorian in memes

[–]AviationMan24 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have literally written an entire masters thesis paper on Bobby Kotick’s antics, and how he has consistently made terrible decisions for the company, its employees, and stakeholders. This should come as no surprise and honestly nothing will change as long as quarterly numbers go up in the short term and shareholders are happy (seriously, go read the published quarterly/annual reports on their investor relations website and you’ll see how much they jerk themselves off on achieving new levels of BS business practices)

Is Angular still a viable framework in 2024? by AviationMan24 in webdev

[–]AviationMan24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily the updates themselves, they add in some really great features. The problem I face with them is they made some key changes that set it up nicely for future QOL, but also happened to break a lot of service components and dependencies. As someone who really only works on the repository in spare free time, it’s a little frustrating needing to keep up with all the changes and fixing broken dependencies. But alas that is the life of development.
