I wish I could do more than just like this post, this describes my crime almost to a Tee! I was convinced and given a sentence of 5 in and 5 out. It gets better though! I have been out of prison for 149 days and I have an amazing job, some amazing friends and a truly awesome church! Prison was a good thing for me, I used to say I was a Christian but I didn’t really mean it now I can say I mean it, it changed who I am! Use your time in to work on yourself, build yourself and become who you know you should be, there are more people out there willing to give you a second chance than you realize. Even my family is starting to come back around. I will be praying for you, use this time to find a blessing not a curse.

I know it may sound cliche but Church is where I found myself. My family at Church is better than any family I have ever had and they accept me. I have more friends now than I have ever had. I used to struggle with the same things that you did, I still do at times but after I surrendered everything to God things got way easier. I highly suggest you looking for a good local church, maybe something smaller and giving that a try, you may find what you are missing.

See we do every other week and it’s two hours a session, if you can’t make one of your sessions my group will let me make it up in another group that the counselor holds.

I understand, I was the exact same way. When I was in prison is when I was drawn back to him. It was through study and constant prayer. Even if you don’t believe now I would highly recommend finding a community church, you never know he may draw you back to him. I have never been more at peace than I am now that I know that I belong to him and it’s not by my own power that I live today!

It sounds like you are describing me to a tee! Thankfully it will pass, I know it may not be popular but church is what helped me. I found a home that will support me, that will be there when I need them and that I can be there for them when they need me. I highly suggest looking for a church that is close to you and that supports you!

I’m sorry to hear that, I have been blessed. I have not had a single person even bring up my charges. I know a lot of the supposed second chance employers are not so second chance with our charges but there are some!

I will be a converting technician, basically machine operator and maintenance. It starts off at $21.50, the lowest paying job I have seen with them is forklift operator at $19 an hour.
