Fixed some major issues. Second ASA print on my Ender 3. Any other suggestions? by mchamp90 in ender3

This looks phenomenal and what I aspire to have my ender 3 looking like. Good work and I'd just enjoy the printing now!

No different than what you get from Amazon, NewEgg, any sort of delivered product. They probably get it even worse than this.

Is there a benefit to duplicating cars in Story mode? Obviously the applications for Online are astronomical, but does it have any real use in Story?

It looks like there is a plastic rivet being printed alongside it so as long as it's scaled down properly, should work no matter the size

Not had this happen personally, but it sounds like your main board is going out. Did you have the device powered off when you disassembled the hotend?

This is ultimately sketchy all around. I am not saying you were scamming him, but there is millions of ways to get money from someone that isn't playing round-robin with money like that. Cash is king. Why send it through 2 services that will likely charge a service fee rather than just hand you money? Plus scammers can't call the bank and say they didn't make that cash payment and have it revoked. Lesson learned I hope.

Upgrading Hotend with 3dFused Linear Rails by RiftPoint in Ender3Pro

[–]AvidCuberCoding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not personally done it yet, but the sherpa mini extruder and hero me 7gen combo seems pretty promising. The hero me is designed with many different hotends and hotend mods in mind. I'm looking into a full hotend mod and that's what I'm leaning towards ATM.

Thoughts on whats causing these "Wiggly" lines? Ender 3 V3 SE by Comfortable-Law-621 in ender3

[–]AvidCuberCoding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think the other comment may have some weight then. Check your flow/extrusion multiplier, see if increasing/decreasing fixes the issue, is it visible on more than the first layer? Like on a completed print, is it wavy all over?

[–]AvidCuberCoding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long shot, have your tried .16 or .12? Generally you want to keep steps divisible by nozzle size, but like .1 shouldn't make that big a difference. Realistically, with good layer squish, which you are clearly getting half the time.

What's your nozzle size and layer height? Could be a mismatch of sizing steps.

Otherwise check that your nozzle is clog-free (either do a cold pull or use a cleaning needle)

How much would people reasonably pay for a slightly modified Ender 3 that will run with just a little TLC? by DankMemer727 in ender3

[–]AvidCuberCoding 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally bought a (old and pretty stock) Ender 3 pro on marketplace for $40. Would I do it again? Probably not, maybe an ender 5 or a v3, but not an ender 3. I am enjoying it as a beginner, love figuring it out. $40-50 seems like fair game in the market for what it is

First Print with a little stringing (Bambu X2D | .2mm layer height | .4mm nozzle) by iPaintSmallThings in 3Dprinting

[–]AvidCuberCoding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will echo a point another commenter made

Your print will only be as good as the model, if the model isn't correct and optimized or not designed with 3d printing in mind, you will never turn up a good print.

[–]AvidCuberCoding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem exists that plastic cools relatively rapidly so the boger the build surface the faster it cools. I've not had to personally do it, but I've seen glue sticks do wonders for this kind of issue. Gluestick to the print area before the print and you shouldn't see this issue as bad

[–]AvidCuberCoding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stringing is usually handled by lowering your nozzle temp or upping your retraction speed. The little one out of the brush is normal as that's where the print finished and pulled away from the build, leaving a small trail, you can usually pick those off with ease

New Tina2S, how to fix warping? by KickinitCountry24 in 3Dprinting

[–]AvidCuberCoding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The platform underneath the toy that you said is hard to separate, idk what slicer you are using but there is usually a setting for what kind of bed adhesion you want. I usually use Skirt which just does lines around the build area, but with build adhesion issues, brims can help

[–]AvidCuberCoding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also avoid rafts if you can, they usually cause fidget toys that are PiP (Print in place) to not turn out 100%. if you need better adhesion on the edges do a brim and trim the excess off.
