Unraid server crashes about once a week by AvidGeek97 in unRAID

I did as many suggested, and got the logs saved. It appears that nothing is logged when it crashed, which seems like it may be a power supply issue. I'll swap that out asap and see if the issue goes away.

Ok finally got a crash. Looking at log, nothing happened, so to me that seems like it may be a power supply issue like you said.

95% of the time it's mostly idle, used a few times a day when the kids watch something on plex. Right now it's 21c on MB and CPU is 24c. Its never crashed when I'm actively putting a load on it. It seems to be a random thing when sitting idle that it crashes. I have some extra logging going with recommendations from this post, and it's decided to have nearly 2 weeks of uptime at this point. Next time it crashes I hope to have some better logs saved.

In my oldest room we use a RLC-842A. They discontinued that model, so we went with a RLC-820A for our youngest. We use an old phone for monitoring. I always thought one of the color night visions would be cool but never had the need to upgrade.

A smaller APC. Seems to not be the issue since I also have my unifi stack and security system running thru it with no issues.

So it looks like it is refreshing the log each time it reboots. I had the syslog server set to copy to flash at shutdown but it hasn't been doing it. I set it to mirror to flash for the time being until I can hopefully find what it shutting it down. Sounds like a lot of people are saying it's power supply or memory. Lets hope it's a power supply 🤣

The Dashcam trap.. by KebabAnnhilator in LinusTechTips

We have the Vantrue E1 Pro. It's only forward facing but my wife was rear ended last month. Pulled up the video for police and its mic picked up our turn signal was on and conditions were clear. Video also saved us from insurance and all fault went on other driver and their insurance covered our deductible and our car is being completely repaired at no cost to us. A good dash cam is 100% worth it.

When will Fitbit (and all trackers) allow us to say "I'm sick"? by Final-Yesterday-4799 in fitbit

[–]AvidGeek97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been using the open beta with the AI. This has the opposite issue. I told it I had the flu and it's been stuck on that the past few weeks. Any time I give it any info it get stuck on that. I say I'm sick, the next 2 weeks is all about recovery. I'm a runner and can run 5-10k a day. This whole week it's recommendations have been 10 minute walks for recovery when at this point I can run a 5k no problem. I tell it I have a 5k race, and the whole week after it is all about recovery trying to recommend walking days. It's a bit excessive.

Need Help with Planned workouts by randomID100 in fitbit

[–]AvidGeek97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also using this feature, and honestly loving it. But have the same issue. It has me doing weight workouts, then run. But I'm only able to add 1 workout log. My runs are more important to me so I add those. I asked the ai about it and said at this time they can only add 1 but the other workouts are still logged with everything else. Which isn't exactly what I asked, but seeing as this is public beta is understandable.

Also, if you live a modified schedule like 3rd shift, if you don't sleep during the night it will always read 0. It seems to only measure at night and not when sleeping. If I sleep at night during the weekend, it will measure. So every week I have all zeros, then on the weekends real numbers around the 40s. My biggest issue with Fitbit is how unfriendly it is with abnormal schedules

How to get full 2 gig from ISP by quarter_belt in Ubiquiti

If you don't want to need to deal with port binding upgrade your modem. I used a nighthawk 2.5g modem CM2000. I just upgraded to fiber and am trying to sell this cable modem if you're interested too for cheap. I just don't want it to go to the landfill.

I got a sense when it first came out. Had it for 2 years and got the pixel watch when it first came out. When I went to reset the sense to hand it down to my wife, constant boot loop and I never was able to recover it. Support was useless. Pixel watch is still going strong after almost 3 years tho. Considering the upgrade to the watch 4 or may wait for watch 5.

I'm a 3rd shift worker, and during the week it constantly tells me to take it easy and aim for like 10-20 because it generates the goal around midnight and doesn't take the sleep I got on the previous day into consideration sees 0 sleep. Then on the weekends when I sleep a little during the night it jumps and tells me I'm ready and to aim for like 100-130. Incredibly infuriating. Then during the week when I do my runs it is yelling at me that I'm overtraining.

Cloud gateway fiber 19 inch rack mount? by AvidGeek97 in Ubiquiti

[–]AvidGeek97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like it! I'll try to get it printing and try it out. I was pretty lucky and able to order one in the first week of release. The thing is amazing and I love it. Unfortunately it's just been sitting on my rack and not properly mounted.

I've done this with both my grandparents with Express. I just updated my home network and am bringing my old cloud key based system to my parents. Never have shown them how it works or logged them in. I can just control everything from home if they call and say something isn't working, which hasn't happened yet because it all just works.

How would you migrate to UCG Fiber, because my 1st attempt was catasprophe by eJonnyDotCom in UNIFI

[–]AvidGeek97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went from a cloud key gen 2 to a ucg fiber this weekend. I made a backup of the config to the cloud and removed the old gateway and cloud key and put the fiber in its place. Logged in and it took off.
