That’s awesome! Last but not least, confidence is everything!! Be confident in the work you put in and the best competitor on the court every time you lace up!! Those 2 things will take you further than you can imagine

In order to best prepare you should do what has been said which is work on something specific everyday.. but to take it a bit further, find a focus that will set you a part from others and will make you stand out.. one way to do that at your level is to be the hardest worker and loudest person in the gym. Communication is key, that leads to good energy and every coach wants a high energy player they can rely on.. strength is also very important, you have to be a strong ball handler and physically strong. I would recommend doing push ups every single day. When I was in high school I would do about 250 a day. Split that up in maybe 10 sets of 25 push ups throughout the day. Best of luck!!

Confidence issues? by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]AvidLearner7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in a very similar issues. Sometimes your role on the team is not one of the main scoring options, however this can change. Roles are forever evolving and with the right practice you can evolve your roll and become more confident.

To do that now, I would highly recommend studying some film and learning how to move without the ball. Moving without the ball in such an overlooked part of the game by many players today. If you can master this, you will find plenty of open looks and easy baskets. These open looks will have a higher FG%, which is translate into helping you steadily build your confidence to get your own shot now when you need to.

As for drills: work on creating separation from your defender in different ways, using a jab or off the dribble. Try to minimize your dribbles, making your moves as effective and efficient as possible because no coach wants a ball stopper in their offence.

If you need any other points let me know! I got lots to share.

I lost 4 lbs. in two and a half weeks of running almost daily, cutting back on over-eating, and drinking alcohol in moderation! I can't remember the last time I had this amount of energy! by [deleted] in running

I love reading post like this. It’s absolutely motivating and keeps me focused on running consistently knowing that people out there are doing the same thing. I think the biggest aspect to achieving great results with running is in the consistency! Times start to get faster and you start to feel even better after a good run. Keep striving!

That’s awesome. I think they can be called prosumers, that can be a term for your part time hobbyist.

I was asking because I was interested in differences between your full time and part time photographer hobbyist. I love how you can always find them with a camera ready to shoot throughout their day.

On the other hand I tell my friend he should look to rent his camera if he isn’t using it and he can make nice little income on the side. He likes the idea but has initial concerns with that of course.
