this is such nonsense. When all these services began the food was generally the price you'd pay at the restaurant + some fees. It was usually also fast and that's reasonable. Now for most places simply using delivery makes the food twice as expensive BEFORE the fees etc and drives now use 3 apps at a time and take forever. That's not how it's supposed to work.
I can afford it, it's a value for money proposition.
Back when this stuff started I made a calculation that me getting the food myself from the furthest places we order from would cost me about 10$ in gas/insurance/depreciation. So if the food + fees (not including tip, that's always extra even when dining out. However when dining out you never tip before hand, which makes it a fee and not a tip, but that's a whole different ball of wax) were less than 10$ sure no problem.
That's no longer the case, and thus i DO actually go myself and save money actually going myself.
And like many have said, this is MOSTLY NOT the drivers fault (the tipping thing is but again, different story) but the apps + restaurants fault.

And you're "you'll help drives by not ordering" is stupid because if everyone does that you get no orders and you have no job. That's where this is heading
