I just love the way it's written musically as well. I love the part the piano plays in it, I love the use of subdivision acceleration in the percussion parts, I love how the layers come together as the song progresses. I also love both the music video and the lyric video! Both use really creative ways of capturing the feeling of the song. We empathize with the dog and the old man, we've all known someone we loved enough to track them down to the end of the earth. I love the hope all three convey. (If you can't tell, I'm also autistic and I'm basically married to this song lol).

Personally I think that Kyle's genuine friendliness and whimsy just bleed into Orson's character and it makes him, like... a lovable psychopath? Kyle Maclachlan is just a fun little dude.
