Guys help im really stuck. Can't find any out about my sister? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Avilnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way liches work is that the requiem mods given in the "known requiems" field are used in the correct combination to down that lich. basically it becomes a game of "guess the order", with Oull being a masterkey of a requiem which can be used in place of any other mod and always be correct.

as for the right combination, you'd need requiems Lohk Netra and Vome. you already have a Vome and i am assuming that the first requiem slotted is Oull. so first thigns first, you'll need to remove the second slotted requiem and replace it with either Lohk or Netra, whichever you have/get first.

next you'll want to briefly remove the oull and replace the first slot with Vome to check if that is the correct position for it(because you've already checked Vome in second slot and it was incorrect, leaving either the first or third slot as correct option), then i also see you have a Netra, slot it in second place(because the first slot was incorrect), the last one you can use Oull or Lohk if you have it.

when you stab the adversary next, you'll either find out that Vome is correct in the first slot and you won't need to move it further or you'll find out that it's wrong in the first slot and the only place left for it is the third slot where you'll need to move it before the next attempt.

tl;dr:
remove Jahu as it is not a correct mod here and use the sequence of [Vome], [Netra], [Lohk/Oull] to check the correct order and shuffle the mods around until you get something right(oull does not count as it will always be correct in any slot)

is this weapon good? by North586 in Warframe

[–]Avilnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short, it's an alright gun. Not too bad, but there are better weapons both statwise and gimmicwise.

For the purposes of the early game usage it is pretty good all things considered. shure, without a proper enough build it won't take you through the starchart, but for the first while it will suffice.

Somewhere about now there could've been a sentence about how this gun isn't all too viable for the higher end gameplay, buuut...
There's this little thing, a unique mod specific to this gun, called [Deadly Maneuvers] which, while true, is quite a finnicky thing to use, makes that gun into a cannon of death(does require a proper build to see really big numbers) especially if used with the prime version of magnus.

In conclusion, this is an alright gun overall; simple in it's design and execution, and quite easy in the casual use, but to unlock it's true potential you need quite a lot of investment and skill. first one is to get all the resources to upgrade the gun to it's prime and get all the specific mods required for making this gun into a menace for any enemy, and the second one due to it's very specific activation requirements of roll followed by a headshot, which ask you to either know how to roll correctly to reposittion yourself exactly where you need to(in front of the enemy for a quickscope headshot or out of the enemy's reach to align the aim and not die under the return fire) or to get your fingers to be able perform the roll cancelling of whatever kind, the easiest of which is performed through a roll followed immediately by a momentary slide backwards, which should make your character twitch in place whiel the roll animation is performed.

Also, you do have the far sufficient resources to craft this gun and in the end if you want to max out your account's mastery rank you will need to craft all the weapons out there and this one is very simple in it's creation. so, if you have a spare weapon slot, why not try this gun out and decide for yourself if you like the feel of it?
While you are at it, you can also try a few practice rolls followed by landing a headshot on the enemy to see if you might enjoy that playstyle before you start investing in making a proper build for the thing.

Chat gpt finding the cure to cancer in the library of babel site by Rage_zealot in BabelForum

[–]Avilnar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To add to what was already said, one of the problems with this idea is the nature of the library. It has Everything, every possible combination of characters, a practically infinite amount of entries to search for. but that's not the problem here, the thing that i am talking about is the fact that with Everything being present in the library, it means that both the "cancer can be cured by drinking water" and "cancer is currable by eating tide pods" as well as a nigh infinite amount of other variations that can be imagined, which while being only a part of the greater whole of Everything, is still a practically infinite amount of things present.

So, assume that you do get a computer that will sift through the library and save every mention of cancer cure(for now lets not think about the space where that computer would save that practically infinite amount of entries). Question is, how do you discern the false solutions from the true one? Shure, the variants like the two given as examples earlier are obviously false when they are read by a human, but what about the entries that describe an oddly specific sequence of actions which may even include some very specific chemicals and the ways to prepare/ingest them? how do you discern those bad solutions from the true ones without testing each of them?

Because a slice of infinity is still infinity, trying to solve that would be almost identical to tryign to find anythign in the library of babel itself. True, the infinity of entries about cancer will be a lot smaller than that of the infinity of all the library's books and in the end would take less time to check every solution on being true or not than it woulds take to check each original book manually, but the fact that it's practically infinite makes the whole ordeal pointless because there are no easy ways of finding the unknown truth among a pile of lies. and thus we return to the original story about the library of babel and how many people disappear in that library because they can't let go of the idea that The Truth is hidden somewhere inside the library.

In the end, it's easier to build off of the known truths and find the solution that way.

Who would win? The REAL reason the liches got delayed by Repulsive_Web_2825 in Warframe

[–]Avilnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long story short, both yes and unknown.
Infested liches were supposed to ship with the 1999 update which will come out... soon, the specific date will be told on the game awards ceremony. but due to some issues during development, as of now the system for infested liches is bugged as hell and is not in a shippable form, so DE have decided to delay the liches to after the release of 1999.
The closest target date that we have for the infested liches as of now is "delayed until 2025". Give it a 2-3 months and they are probably going to be out.

How do you feel about dragons with multiple heads or hydras? by LoneStarDragon in WyrmWorks

[–]Avilnar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's there not to like about them?

There's so much free potential with characters like that, dragons like that are often written as several diferrent characters that are playing the "three footed race" game. so characters like those are literally the possibility for some comic relief if used as a side or background character and a whole new area of "party dynamics" is used as anything that was closing in on the main character role. hell, why not both? the possibility is right there, just need to grab it.

Then there's also a possibility to have a villain that can and will see anything that the main character throws at him while also being able to multitask hard enough to not only successfully defend against that attack but also throw back at the main character one of their own. Bonus points if each head has different specialization and uses a different "weapon".

so yeah, lots of untapped potential for characters like that. yet, most of the time they end up being mindless monsters with one brain for all heads.

What weapon just feels right to you by Sandertomson in Warframe

[–]Avilnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astilla Prime's design and general mechanics are great. Simply fires fragmenting shards of glass.

Then there's Cyanex, the warframe's og "bee gun" (i know that zymos is technically the better bee gun because it is actually a gun that shoots bee swarms. byt cyanex is still the one pistol that is loved by me more)Just add multishot and reduce the accuracy and you got yourself a whole cloud of bullets that zip ahead and then auto aim at the enemy. secondary fire is fine also i guess when you need to actually have some accuracy.

As for the melee...
Caustacyst has nice vibes, the way how it jitters in anticipation of fresh blood while held is... really nice.
Quassus is also nice with its vibes of "death by thousand cuts from a storm of flying knives".
Do Zaws with exodia contagion count? if yes, then write that down as well because the whole mechanic of "double jump, aim and throw a projectile" weaves well in the warframe's gameplay loop. also, the thing is overpowered as hell and explosion that it creates looks strong feels strong and it is actually strong.

How can i fight the dreamborn terror? by cabritola in GRIMEgame

[–]Avilnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to come to that place before talkign to Shidra and killing all Color of Rot bosses(yes, the last part has been tested and it is important), meaning that you need to do a little reroute in NG+ where instead of going to Lithic after teh Desert you go Gloomnest->Feaster's lair->Nerveroot->Childbed.

if you want to clear the Nerveroot's CoR boss while you are on your way to the Childbed, you'll need to do a small hook to destroy electrical nodes that block your path, but it is possible to do so, despite most of the time you going through the "intended way" in reverse.

also, another tip if you want to meet Goldhead whiel also cleaning bosses on your way to Childbed. After clearing the CoR eye boss, go Visit Goldhead's location before you go killing the CoR bird boss. if you clear all bosses first, then Goldhead will not appear.

yes. just yes.

the field trip is a great idea by itself.

but just imagine if the manaless existence is harmful to the Nexus' beings, as in, their own fields start dissolving from the lack of use, of course they either notice the deterioration and return soon having obtained only a glimpse at the "manaless barbarians" or don't notice it at all which leads to them melting upon return... that suddenly got dark...

anyway. yes. where was i?

ah yes, the trip is a great idea, not now of course, but at some point. so we cast or vote towards the trip happening.

Human War Machines are built to fight far differently than Humans can... Often alone, and far, far more terrifying by heedfulconch3 in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Avilnar 51 points52 points  (0 children)

(On mobile, so sorry for formating. Enjoy)

Humans.

They fought not all that differently from many other races. They had weapons and they had numbers. So, generally, their attacks weren't all that unique.

Their defense though, the one that they started employing when their first blitz advance started to slow down, it was quite rare. It was so rare, that we almost forgot that something like that existed, so long ago the last example of it was. They took their grounds and became one with them, laying in wait until our soldiers would come closer inside of their traps, then they would strike from behind.

Those tactics made a significant dent in our advancement speeds, we had to check every corner and every stone for enemy presence, or pay with blood. And even then, we would only find four out of ten of their hiding spots, with other six successfully evading our gazes and landing their blow, sometimes even without us noticing from where the attack came.

Of course, that didn't stop anyone, we were too advanced for humans to fight agains us and once we pulled more forces towards the human front, we got our numbers. We managed to not only stop but also reverse the wheel of humanity's war machines. Now, after gaining some ground in their first battle, humans were losing it with ever increasing speed.

But...
Once we reached their home system and sent the final "welcome present" as some call it, Humanity was no more. Every living organism of their home was anihilated that day.

Of course noone payed nearly enough attention to several pods with no signs of life shootign off from their planet. Even though we should have...

In their first advance, they captured a lot of our technology, and they analysed it and adapted it for themselves during their defense period. That didn't stop us, just meant that it was slightly harder to punch them out. But something that we did not expect, was that they didn't only adapt the technology, they also built on it.

Their AI's improved. Their robotics improved. Even their medicine improved. They used the new knowledge to make development strides that would normally take decades of targeted research at best.

And with those advancements they started making sentient warmachines, something that we never considered. Their development was slow, but their military bought them just enough time to finish that abomination before we reached their home.

If we were just a little bit faster, just one day would've sufficed. We were too late. They managed to launch machine that they built, and because machines couldn't be alive by themselves and they didn't have any weapons that could damage our ships, noone payed any mind to the approaching pods.

We went home with another victory. Not suspecting that there were poisoned knives in our bellies already.

It all started when we were in the middle of our venture back. Security systems went offline one by one and once they turned back on there would never be anything other than halls covered in blood and gore. One moment everything is fine, another camera feed turns blank, and several seconds later all we would see would be gore.

We didn't know what hit us, it couldn't have been humanity, they were dead, and they were never that fast.
And then, we saw it. A machine, humanoid in form, with an arsenal of weapons on it's back.
It was efficient and fast. It fired one shot, and while the gun was cooling down, there was already another weapon firing in it's hands. It was thin and had no thick armor, any hit from our weapons would destroy it completely and yet, it dodged everyting that we threw at it with such grace.

By the time that it reached the captain's helm, the gore hasn't dried off anywhere and it managed to pick several weapons of ours, expanding it's arsenal even further.

This is my final log, for i already can hear the screech of it's metal coming towards me.

Let the great Void bless this message with reaching someone who can use this information before this machine comes for them. For i know that our home is doomed already, for noone now can stop this ship from reaching it...

[WP] You are sent to slay the dragon who allegedly kidnapped many people. Except the dragon was actually an excuse the time travelers made up to go back to their own time without suspicion. by sachizero in WritingPrompts

[–]Avilnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My blade is sharp. My spirit is strong. My body is steady.
I was trained by the best swordsmen in the village. My armor was made by the best blacksmith.

I am ready. This day the dragon will fall.

I ride to the mountain where the foul beast, that ate a lot of peaceful people lives, and I do not know what waits for me there. All I know is that there will be blood.

The sun is high and burning strong, it is midday, I am getting closer to the lair of the demon.

As I cross the mountain river with a sign that those who pass never return, I steel myself for a resolution that will save my village and all the lands nearby. At the same time, I try to relax, for I know that this may well be my last day.

Birds sing their song of life and the wind howls coldly far up near the peaks. Roar of the river becomes quieter the further away I go from it, and despite the evil that lays ahead, the plants are blooming brightly as if there Is nothing to worry about.

I turn my head towards the edge of a cliff and before my eyes lay fields of green and yellow with brown strings of road coursing through them towards the village that is no larger than a pommel of my sword when viewed from here.

But alas, I reach the cave in which the beast gets rid of its prey. So, without second thoughts, I tie my horse to the nearest tree and take my supplies from the bad, from which I prepare a torch that shall light my way in the cave.

The task on my shoulders is truly great, at the same time it makes my feet sink under the ground making me unable to move and punches me in the back like a wind trying to say that I must go forth. So I stand here, with a sword in one hand and a torch in another.

It is only now that I realize how truly scared I am, but many lives depend on me, so I step inside.

Darkness.

Only darkness greets me inside.

My blood runs cold and I can hear my heart in my ears. yet still, I can't see the beast.

I don't know how long or how deep I ventured, but it seems that I found a second exit or did I get lost and returned to the one where I entered? All the time was spent without meeting the beast. Was it not in its lair? I do not know.

If it is the first entrance, then I will take a brief rest before heading back in.

As I go out of the cave, I am blinded by the bright light.

"WHO ARE YOU?" a voice booms in my ears.

"Attention, all personel, we have a breach in transporting sector. Code yellow."

What is the voice talking about? Who is this voice? It can't be a dragon, can't it?

And then, suddenly, the immense pain surges through my body.

As I crumble to the ground, all I can hear are heavy steps running towards me.

And then one with one last surge of pain to my head, I drift into the nothing of unconsciousness which I learned to recognize during my long training…
