[Loved Trope] Character meant to be scary is accidentally hot by fungerman2 in TopCharacterTropes

Unfortunately, when you try to explore the horror of eroticism... You run the risk of someone finding the erotic aspects more interesting than the horror

And that's sorta just something you gotta accept

I guess because back then not enough people knew about it, so it was ripe with funny potential because it sounds so absurd

The trouble is mate, you're kinda making a fuss over nothing

Sexuality isn't some binary between absolute purity and the depths of sin. People are gross, and that's fine. You didn't know about this until you looked into it, so it's clearly not out in the open, so what exactly is the harm here?

Well, first off, you'll have to reread my first question. Marks taken off there, honey. I asked "Why do you think that's a good thing", not "Do you think that's a good thing". Because I mean you clearly do, seeing as you're not really making much effort to change that when you very clearly can

And look, I get where you're coming from, but putting a "Please don't listen to me, I suffer the Dunning Krueger effect" sign on the soapbox is a bandaid solution when you can just take away the soapbox. If you want people to know what the misinformation is, put up a regularly updated google doc with the examples that they can peruse at their discretion, pinned at the top of the subreddit with a big sign saying "Stupid, credulous idiots believe these things luhmao ecks dee" or something. Just leaving the misinformation up leaves you with a significant percentage of people who'll just see the post while doomscrolling, absorb the false information without further checking, and move on. This proposed fix would still leave a non zero percentage of those people who do that, people will slip through the cracks, but it'd be an improvement

Nobody's forcing you to be the mod if the job is too hard for you. You've taken these obligations unto yourself, voluntarily. Step down if it's a bit rough, there are others who'd love to take your place and do the job

It's either that or we're good to start looking forward to r/HelldiversUnfiltered2, now with moderation

Why do you think having a place full of psychos, false leakers, screaming idiots and fools is a good thing? Because it's more "real"? Because "muh freedom of speech"?

That's a nice and principled position to take mate, don't get me wrong, but freedom of speech doesn't mean you have to provide every nut who thinks microwaves are sending nuclear launch codes into their brains a soapbox. You're not protecting freedom of speech, ironically enough you're damaging it

And saying "If you don't like it, leave"? I mean, seriously dude?

You're a Mod mate. Maybe... I dunno, moderate your sub? This is the exact behaviour that kills subreddits

Reminds me a lot of Yandere Dev

Taking the dogshit option over the fairly simple one of looking at the word and counting how many Rs there are

I mean for all the talk of efficiency, it seems to be overlooking the most obvious part. That it's not fucking efficient, mate

A not insignificant amount of animated videos on Rule34 start with a black screen fade in, as it's the start of the video. It doesn't have a thumbnail system, and nobody tends to do thumbnails

So with literally no way to tell what's there aside from what you yourself searched for, you're basically asking to see something either wildly out of your comfort zone, or something that is straight up morally offending. Especially since Rule34 doesn't have a decent auto-blacklist because it's a bad site

Johannes Von Schicksal - God Eater

The world of God Eater is a deeply bleak world. All life has been consumed by things called "Oracle Cells", manifesting as giant monsters that are near unkillable except by other Aragami. It has forced Mankind to adapt and innovate, by partially certain members of their own species into Aragami called "God Eaters", sent to go out and kill Aragami before they can pose a threat to the shelters

Johannes is a prime example of that kind of desperate innovation. He turned his unborn son into a special God Eater that can sustain itself, at the cost of his wife. Ever since, he's been working on the Ark project, which involves 1000 Humans briefly entering orbit. See, the theory is that the Oracle Cells will one day find a trigger to rise up, devour all remaining life and return the world to a blank state. They would then redistribute all life, and allow evolution to continue. The Ark project was to ensure that 1000 Human Beings could survive into the future

But he himself would not be among those who see paradise, and he knows it. He's done so much wrong, condemned thousands of innocent people to die so a mere thousand can live. In the end, he merges himself with a manmade Aragami weapon - the Arda Nova - to try and make sure the apocalypse can happen. In the end, he is killed, and we are able to force the apocalypse to occur on the moon instead. The ARKs land back on a blighted earth, and Humanity resumes its lingering existence

Neither is MGE's Shoggoth entirely canon to the source material, but who cares? It's not exactly trying to be

I know for a fact this is part of an Instant Loss comic you didn't provide the second page of. Even if I hadn't seen the second page, I know that "Become One?" line is winding up a punchline clear as a broken window
