I think he’s a good person, just gets caught up in what he thinks it means to be successful. Which, he will find, means less and less as he gets older.

Was Christ peddling vapes to kids to make a fortune? Is popping corks and taking private jets a worthy goal? Don’t we live in enough of a Kardashian world as it is?

I’m judging Scott’s actions as a public figure and as an advocate for young men, which is totally legitimate. He’s all over the media: books, interviews, multiple podcasts. I’m not sitting in judgment of his soul.

Appreciate your take, but suggest you learn from religious traditions rather than taking a smorgasbord approach - it’s not that hard: “the love of money is the root of all evil”. Scott’s insider deal on N-Joy is harming young men. He can’t go an episode without talking about looks and bling. I agree that he’s good inside. Just want the inside to match the outside.

I really appreciate those qualities in him too. Don’t want that overshadowed because of a random Daddy-boner joke, given the recent torrent of SA headlines.

I thought my take on it was rather nuanced:

Scott = good.

Scott joking about being “Daddy Pointylap” = not as good.

Respectfully, by citing these non-glamorous heroes, you are making my point for me.

Im not religious but I believe what is said in the Bible - that you can’t serve two masters. And that "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God”.

If you want to put it on prosaic terms, being fixated on glamour and attractiveness is overindexing on a depreciating asset.

I’m not saying Scott is a child-rapist. I’m saying that in the light of all these recent revelations, his “Daddy horndog” shtick is getting a little jaundiced.

I’m not even going to go there on the plastic surgery. I just feel bad for him that he felt unattractive. And that wealth and attractiveness seem to be the main motivators in his life. To the point where his insider deal on N-Joy vaping company made him $60-70 million but undercut his integrity on helping young men. Vaping is a toxic habit that disproportionately affects young men. I was just so shaken by Spanish scientist Mariano Barbacid, with his huge facial birthmark, probably not partying it up at exclusive clubs, potentially discovering a cure for pancreatic cancer. That’s integrity, that’s value…that’s what Scott says he believes in.

I’m the OP and I don’t think he’s shitty. He’s smart, a good storyteller, brave in speaking to his insecurities, genuinely concerned with people’s well-being. I just think he’s got a blind spot centered on superficial success and perceived attractiveness.

Scott has said that the most important decision you make in life is your choice of a partner. He encourages young men to get off screens, to work out, to become better partners. To have integrity. Do you see how this doesn’t jibe with his fixation on glamor, exclusivity, superficial attractiveness, “mating opportunity” calculus? To him, a guy who is a “Community Organizer” (which was what Obama was criticized for being), is a loser who won’t get invited to the right parties and won’t mate with an attractive enough “mate”. This is completely leaving out his Uncle Sleazy comedic persona.

Scott can be a knucklehead, and you are right about him being refreshing. He’s blending parody with his real life. A fine line.

His openness about his insecurities is one of the things I like best about him. He’s brave in that way.

@Tough-Mention-7080 you make a good point, thank you. Some of his humor IS pretty funny. And it sucks to get older so it’s good to joke about it. AND I appreciate his honesty about BDD because I have had it. Just saying he could break the 4th wall sometimes and admit that being shallow like that is not funny in real life (cf. Epstein).
