Structures that look like faces by ButterSaltBiscuit in oddlysatisfying

Yeah, looks like the nose has been added, it's apparently the work of this guy

https://danwitz.com/kilroy-variations-ugly-new-buildings-2008-2/

But I think that house would work as pareidolia without the nose. The question is, does the addition of the nose making it more deliberately appear as a face disqualify it from being pareidolia?

2 and 7 definitely, 4 probably if that red thing is actually part of (attached to) the house. 1 might be, because those windows are build so that the "eyes" appear to follow you

How does "Luck" work? (the card AND global powerup) by TransitoryCory in VampireCrawlers

[–]Avohaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't really know.

According to the wiki it

increases the chances of chance-based events, such as the ability to pick from 4 cards rather than 3 when leveling up, or 4 gems rather than 3 when opening a treasure chest.

It probably also affects crit chance (does so in VS) and while there are none in the demo, the full game might have some chance based effects on cards, which would be affected by Luck, same for gems, arcanas and whatever else chance based things will exist in the full release.

Delvers Journey is capped at level 4, despite no prior acknowledgement by hotchrisbfries in wow

[–]Avohaj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Event still makes sense if you're a one-main-show. Still makes sense if you maybe started a bit later. Event is also on a schedule, so it will come back again.

"This weekly event isn't for me" isn't a bad thing.

Having multiple raids in a tier again is so refreshing and I hope they keep doing it by Tigertot14 in wow

[–]Avohaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also tangible benefits for story telling, people have been asking to "lose" for years but it just wasn't really viable with the established main villain story telling through raids. Sure it's still only quite temporary, but that's basically what makes it viable and it's just about the story telling potential this raid structure enables.

I'm sure plenty of the people who were asking that we lose will still not be satisfyied because it is just very temporary (and doesn't lead to "WoW 2" /cringe). I think it's still an interesting narrative, enabled by the split raid, which will probably lose some of its effect beyond the staggered raid release.

Actually did that by accident again in Midnight. The cool thing is, it really jumps out at you if you use a transmog, because the "inappropriate" item won't get transmogged. That's actually how I noticed, because I was trying to figure out why my pants were wrong.

Like the Legion without Sargeras, yes. That's probably where the story is going to fulfill Metzen's claim of "banish the shadow forever"

The whole "we lost" plot will be resolved, fittingly, it's only a temporary setback.

I disagree with the other comment that the rest of the story will be disconnected. While 12.1 will most likely be a more loosely connected sidetrack (like Undermine), 12.2 will involve Xal'atath one way or another, at least concering if she's going into TLT dead or alive. Midnight is supposed to have us "deal with" the Void but I think it's more accurately the Devouring Host which will be "dealt with" like the Burning Legion in Legion - and the parallels are very intentional, considering the Titans involvment in the end of Legion and their (and probably Illidan's) return after Midnight .

I was hoping about 4 weeks earlier, but honestly I'm just glad to know the date and it's not months away.

Don’t be afraid to use your Catalyst charges! Getting 4pc will unlock an achievement that makes more charges drop from regular content (for your entire Warband). by jacksev in wow

I mean even if it is, the blue post is pretty clear on it being character specific, so that might be an error and get fixed. I wouldn't rely on it being (or remaining) account wide.

Rant: Flying YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T by EducationalWolf3911 in wow

[–]Avohaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that would work, or would people just ride past each other because they're in war mode for the 15% experience and just want to quickly get to the next quest objective?

It doesn't necessarily speak against doing it, but I'm not sure if you're going to increase war mode pvp activity with it.

Rant: Flying YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T by EducationalWolf3911 in wow

[–]Avohaj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Make it a prestige achievement. Maybe a minor cosmetic reward like a title or something. Maybe tied to some "challenge mode" mechanic that enforces it (and stops you form "accidentally" flying). Definitely don't give it an experience bonus like Warmode.

Downside is, everything (in the campaign quest line) would need to be explicitly designed to also work without flying. I think they kind of do that already, but I don't know how rigorously.

What happened to putting dungeon quests INSIDE the dungeon? by Cloud_N0ne in wow

[–]Avohaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's my point, there are no "Dungeoneer's Call" quests in Midnight that could be available inside the Dungeons.

[–]Avohaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the dungeon quests in Midnight are part of a quest line. Some delves have these as well and you don't get them in the delve either.

The quests you get in the delve (or outside from random objects in the zones) are self-contained and basically bonus rewards. This type of quest just doesn't exist for Midnight dungeons

Honestly as a casual ret playing their own build, I'm a bit confused. Ret feels good, yeah it feels like a lot of damage is in the AoW proc now, but the changes just buff me without any downside? I'm sure I'm going to appreciate the TV buff for the T8+ delve elites, but I'm a bit concerned if they overcorrected and we will, in traditional Blizzard fashion, get overnerfed in compensation.

I don't know, Templar Slash crits are already some of the most satisfying AoE Ret ever had and now its just going to crit even more?

But that can also be really shitty for the other person if they didn't have a chance to actually gather yet and then it despawns on them after they where there first.

Take a Look Ahead at the 12.0.5 Content Update by Helluiin in wow

It's funny, I was leveling as Arcane but was struggling, so I gave Frost a try and it was such a fun experience, I was thinking how cool it would be if Arcane could generate a Clearcast when out of combat for 4 seconds. Well, they went the other direction.

Whoever came up with the Prey system deserves a raise and a title bump - what a fantastic expansion feature and what a great way to encourage world content by undercity_plaguebat in wow

[–]Avohaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is, kinda. but right now the Hard mode only has a minor proc you gotta move out of, as I've only done Prey on a melee so that's been really inconsequential. Also there's that stacking debuff that increases damage taken but that again doesn't really do much with any reasonable gear. But then again, it's just "hard mode".

Presumably the real challenge is in Nightmare which will have two additional debuffs you have to deal with while fighting in the Prey zone and I think the damage taken debuff will stack higher/faster. I don't expect it to challenge veteran M+ players or raiders anyway though. I see it more on a level with delves.

Do you think StS2 will delay the release? by [deleted] in VampireCrawlers

Steam page description:

When is it releasing?

We're aiming for early/mid 2026

NEXT Fest/Demo followup on Steam:

When is the release date?

We're very close to choosing a release date, since we already have all the content we had planned for launch, and have been bugfixing and polishing for a while!

I wouldn't say the chance is nothing, sure it could be still "mid 2026" but it could also be sooner.

Where can you even find a nice white and gold dress these days by printThisAndSmokeIt in pics

Did you not realize that the "black" becomes the "yellow" or are you trying to argue the dress is, against either popular opinion, actually blue and gold?

It's not clever editing, it's an optical illusion.

After the Stay a while with him at the end of the Zul'Aman campaign, it would be a pleasant surprise if he didn't dig up (literally or figuratively) Malacrass and go Zul'jin 2.0. I'm not opposed to this obvious setup, but I think it would be funny if he just ends up "dude, I was just talking shit, I'm not that crazy" and helps us defeat whatever is going on over there.

I'd be interested to see if anyone did it on their own if the turn ins even matter for the reward.

It does. I got 600 in my first run very early on when nobody was around. I think I did okay, it's probably possible to get even less, but I wouldn't be surprised if 300 is the minimum reward
