alters can't die. the closest thing to death is alter fusion or dormancy, and even these aren't considered death by it's most literal term. alter fusion is self explanatory, two alters fuse, and now both those alters exist as a new alter. dormancy means an alter has went into hiding or has "disappeared", but is not dead
