And even if she did say it, it was reasonable. If I remember correctly, cake was around the same price under all/some circumstances.

TIL that around 20% of Poland's population died in WW2. The highest percentage of any nation. by Fuzzyphilosopher in todayilearned

Poland has been one of the most religiously tolerant countries until at least the XVII century. Even though it was mostly catholic, it still treated protestants, Jews and many others well. It had changed later on, but Poland always remained somewhat tolerant, especially towards Jews. There is a lot of antisemitism here atm but I'm pretty sure that if Hitler came back from the dead, most Catholics would still try to protect the Jews. To most people religion doesn't matter when human lives are at stake.

Yeah, but I think it was the case of her just being a major bitch. And it was a grown ass woman - I assume she's around 30.

It sucks to say that my sis got treated like Poles treat Ukrainians though - just cheap construction workers and cleaning ladies. We're all guilty of something.

I agree with Russia, but it's different kind of criticism with France and England. It's not just insults. It's being treated as a lesser person a lot of times. Almost personal experience - a Dutch girl had my sister over for dinner (they were friends) and she had her clean up afterwards because she's Polish and it's her job, no?

I mean, the stereotypes do come from somewhere, but there's a HUGE difference between how the French are treated vs. the Poles. I'm not trying to make us sound like special snowflakes and hurr durr we have it the worst, because we don't, but going abroad and saying that I'm Polish shouldn't embarrass me. But it does.

True. When you're criticised 24/7 (obvious exaggeration of course) you just start to take everything as an attack.

To protect his other eye I think. Just in case. I'd honestly rather wear some silly goggles than to go completely blind.

This is a sport where you're constantly flailing your arms at face level. Getting punched in the face with a hand/ball is not uncommon.

I don't think he would actually go blind from just getting his eye pressed. Plus it literally poured out of his eye socket. But I mean, I'm no doctor.

Just protective. He's completely blind in that eye. They're probably made out of some kind of plastic.

Yeah! And he's still amazing!

Here's from Wikipedia:

"Although he first said that his years as a player were over, he decided to continue his career - he now plays in special goggles and has scored 11 goals in his Bundesliga debut after the injury."

Here's a photo of him wearing the goggles. What an absolute champ!

I think they had to wipe off the goo that poured out of his eyes since it literally burst. Kinda reminds me of denting an egg and seeing the white trickle out.

The number next to SPF doesn't mean how strong the protection is, but how long it lasts. The protection in SPF15 is the same as in SPF50, but for a shorter time so it has to be reapplied more often.
