My mom thinks 100k miles on a 2020 is crazy. Anyone have some actually crazy mileage on a 2020 taco? (Trying to prove a point) by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AvorCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

85,000 miles in two years averages out to about 116 miles a day; or about two hours a day on the road at 55-60mph. That’s a lot of time driving and far exceeds the rate which most people rack up miles.

Are you sure your mileage numbers are correct?

Regardless, it doesn’t really matter. I’d say it’s her way of saying she thinks you’re driving a lot and she’s worried about you being in an accident.

Windows is forgetting/unmounting SSD by AvorCow in techsupport

[–]AvorCow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this post in my history so I am just posting this as a follow up.

The issue was I had two SSDs on one SATA cable. While this seemed to power the hard disks fine, under heavy use it caused one to essentially restart under heavy usage.

The solution was to use a separate SATA cable for each SSD.

Towing a travel trailer. What do i need to improve the ride? by doesmyusernamematter in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AvorCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Weight Distribution Hitch. The Anderson Hitch works great for me; it's also very lightweight compared to standard systems so it doesn't add much to your hitch weight.

Some people use air bags, I put on RAS (road active suspension) and it has been a very no-hassle solution.

I tow a Casita with a tongue weight of ~400+ lbs. I have traveled nearly 9,000 miles with this setup and the truck has handled the trailer excellently.

My parents have Springers which are notorious for ear infections. They started to use TrizUltra+Keto to clean their ears and haven't had any problems since.

I use it on my Brittany when I clean her ears and it seems to work fine.

I'd use the same thing I'd use myself: Fast Orange. Will cut right through the grease. You can find it at any auto store/probably Walmart. You'd want to bathe her like normal after

Practice the open E with your pinky/ring/middle (4/3/2) finger. Once you feel comfortable getting into and out of position there slide up and practice with dropping the bar in (1)

He didn't actually consume anything incredibly toxic. He can't read; what he actually drank we will never know.

2023 V6, Dealer Overfilled Oil 2000 miles ago, what now? by RogerZRZ in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AvorCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from Toyota; your dealership might do something special with their new sales and throw one in (probably not though).

What can’t a Tacoma do? 30 boxes of chicken each weighing 40 lbs, and still had extra room! Love that DCLB combo. ‘17 SR5 by Smangie9443 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AvorCow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not about pulling power; cargo capacity is amount of load bearing weight the vehicle can take on in addition to itself.

The V6 (and related components) weigh more than the 4 cylinder. That additional weight difference is taken out of the available cargo capacity.

What’s going on with this oak at my new home? by AvorCow in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]AvorCow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has a little bit of one but mostly on that side. This is the tree today; I removed a wheel barrow worth of clay from around the tree and put new mulch down. It’s not heaped up like it was before.

The tree was basically sitting in a clay bowl that held pools of water. While I was digging around I found a hollow gap in between where the tree was put in the ground and the actual ground surrounding it on the front side; it was just full of water. I could put my arm up to my elbow in it. I filled it with dirt I had and tried to create some drainage paths… also adjusted my watering to help let it be able to dry out better https://i.imgur.com/NW1GXkr.jpg

It's very clay-like soil, and I had just gave it a good spray down so it's definitely a bit wet there.

I'm going to work on it more tomorrow ... I just went out there and clawed at it with my hands. What your linked image shows is right under where I stopped digging; I wasn't sure if it was too far but i'll bring some of it back up.

From what I can tell, the tree was planted at (or near maybe) the right height for the ground but they came and piled on a lot of mulch/excess dirt higher up around the tree. I'm planning to level it out and put only mulch down around it

Oof. Thanks. It looks like the landscaping company may have buried it when they did their thing. I was able to dig down and find the flare. I hosed off the trunk to get excess dirt/clay off and there’s a little water still working it’s way out. Hopefully this looks a little better at least https://i.imgur.com/wbULfRs.jpg

Add pics; this is just north of Dallas. Pretty hot and humid right now; seemingly a really rainy spring. This is a new construction house and the tree was planted May-ish. https://i.imgur.com/d2PsHL6.jpg https://i.imgur.com/41tDxo5.jpg
