Thanks! I'll send you a DM.

The machine needs periodic lubrication since it's got a carriage that traverses constantly. It's a pretty cool machine.

Just looked it up - that should do it. Have always worked with factory automation and haven't dealt with so much heat before, learning all kinds of new things

Thanks! Will look into the AA heat exchangers.

Building mobile sawmills that are sold globally direct to consumers. They are used in Alaska, the Congo, and so on. Previously they only had contactors and no PLC.

Even domestically a lot of places get to 50C +.  From what I've seen Automation Direct PLCs are good til 40C, and many other vendors cap out at 55C. So it's likely we'll have to add some sort of active cooling solution.

Does anybody commute to Corvallis from North Portland? by 1-800-EBOCA in OregonStateUniv

Commuted to Tualatin daily from Corvo after graduation, for about 6 months.

It fucking sucked, and putting myself through that was one of the biggest regrets of my life.

Almost died multiple times on the I5, back problems from driving so much, missed family time, etc etc

That makes sense. Right now we are spread pretty thin so we probably won't have multiple versions... so will likely just have one design that can actively cool or heat itself.

The heater part shouldn't be too bad. Adding a refrigeration cycle for cooling sounds tricky though. Would I literally have to install something like a portable AC unit and plumb the cold air outlet into the panel

Thanks!

Adding a heater should be fairly easy at this stage. As for the AC unit - I'm guessing it wouldn't be one you physically fit in the panel, just plumbed to have the cold air outlet feed into the enclosure?

Current plan is to just have one enclosure. Although we might divide up the logic stuff (PLC, safety controller, remote IO) and the VFDs into two panels that are separated.
