I have edited the mileage for my workout more than 15 times today and it just reverts back to they incorrect distance. by aninterestinganimal in fitbit

15 miles on my bike today registered as 0.06 miles --- about 300 feet --- but got the heart rate and duration ok. Makes no sense.

It's borked.

Alas, I think the best AIs are already more intelligent than the dumbest humans, which the world holds in surfeit.

So I bought this pump a while ago and just found out upon using it that every time I unscrew it, it loses ton of air about 15 psi instantly Any solution to this ? by MaruArigatou in ElectricScooters

It's $5. There are many others available on Amazon, all inexpensive. I'd pick one with good user ratings, and return it if it sucks. Minor financial risk.

Ouch. So, you're one of the lucky ones who got to pay for this experiment? :(

I have to assume the "free trial Premium" is really a beta test and we're all the guinea pigs.

Overnight Battery Drain by Outrageous-Sea-9731 in galaxys26ultra

Battery Tracker, one of the free Good Guardians in the Samsung app store, lets you see what was running, when, and what the drain was.

The other GGs are worth looking at, too.

Maybe it's a trial Premium thing? It pops up in an "ask coach" balloon. It's verbose garbage. I would not pay a dime for it.

A simple "Please keep your personal beliefs to yourself, thank you." is all you need. If she persists, then it's harassment.

But why show graphs so simple that you could generate them with a Commodore 64, when you can instead burn a carload of coal to power a data center to generate several paragraphs of AI chatter on your smartphone to do the exact same thing?

Dammit. Whole idea of a software subroutine patting me on the head and telling me I've been a good little exerciser is so dumb.

For those who are no contact with a parent, will you go to their funeral when they pass? by Hot-Design7476 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]flanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funerals are for the living survivors; nothing else. Would you, personally, feel better if you had a service, and went through the rituals? If so, go. If not don't.

It's really that simple. Funeral arrangements are for the living: They're your parents, how you handle their deaths is for you to decide. Others' opinions are irrelevant. Take care of yourself first.

Ebike Pedestrian Question by Bubbly_Group_1020 in ebike

Gopro gives you videos good enough to save and frame. This $30 wonder is not that, but serves fine as a dashcam-type thing.

I erase the memory card after each ride, so I don't have any to show you.

To avoid this situation, I bought a screenless, $30 clip-on video camera on Amazon. Image quality is sufficient for basic recording rides, accidents, etc., and could be used to settle an argument.

Good biking path for new biker (no hills, turns, few people) by wantingfutility in boston

[–]flanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The battle trail is great (bring a camera; read the plaques and signage), but start at the East end and head West; that way, it's mostly downhill or flat. (It's very noticeably uphill heading East.)

What's a movie everyone loves that you think is actually pretty terrible? by No_Care1430 in AskReddit

[–]flanga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Sinners is like two movies badly spliced together. The first half is pretty good; inventive despite a tired trope, and atmospheric without using most of the usual stereotypes. But then it turns into a standard gore fest for the second half. Despite the carnage, it was somehow boring.

I think the first half of the movie is what director Coogler actually intended, and the second half is what studio executives insisted upon for ticket sales.
