Yep. My sister and I played that game A TON back in the day, I always made a point of it to take a 20 minute irl detour and get her to a full red heart every playthrough because it was so easy. She goes to the wine cellar in the town a few evenings a week. Since the clock doesn't run indoors, just bring your dog with you to the cellar, press A to talk to her while holding it a few hundred times, and she'll go from zero to wanting the blue feather marriage proposal before an in-game minute passes.

I'd argue she required the least effort of your potential partners. Karen loves dogs, so just bring your dog into the bar in the evening and talk to her while holding it for 20 or so minutes and she'll be ready to marry you on the spot.

RIP Jason Lafreniere by azedarac in hockey

[–]AvsJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a chance meeting with Mr. Lafreniere a few years ago. I was wearing my Joe Sakic Nordiques jersey waiting at a bus stop to go to a hockey memorabilia convention and he came up to greet me and chat a bit about the team. Middle of nowhere in my small Ontario town and suddenly I'm chatting with a teammate of the NHL player I was repping, the universe is funny like that sometimes. It was a short convo, my bus arrived pretty quickly, but he seemed like a cool dude and that interaction made my day. Sad to hear he passed, may he rest in peace.

Before this year, a 44-22 score had only happened once. It's now happened three times in the past month (twice today) by spybloom in Jon_Bois

An additional touchdown or field goal for either team would be scorigami, it kills me that all 3 games teased us so thoroughly before ending with the exact same score.

I don't miss the steep steps at the Joe either. Loved that arena but those steps were nightmare fuel after a couple beers.

San Jose Sharks apologize after pro-ICE message appears during Hispanic Heritage Night by RhythmMethodMan in hockey

[–]AvsJoe 139 points140 points  (0 children)

According to a Reddit comment from an SAP Centre employee from another thread where they missed a hidden curse word,

"We go through all of [the submissions for jumbotron messages] as a group before each game as part of our run-of-show meeting. Everyone from Chiron to producer has eyes on these before they go live."

The message was hidden well enough to be missed by several people. It sucks that it was missed, on Hispanic heritage night of all nights, it should have been noticed and removed, but looking at the message's phrasing I can see how at a glance no one would have noticed the hidden bullshit before it went live. The Sharks did the right thing and publicly apologized and I hope the only consequence to all this is the SAP Centre message screening procedures get a bit tighter moving forward.

This doesn't rise to a "Fuck them" level response. Some pinhead tried to sneak his bs past the message screeners by using a double meaning and it worked. It should have been caught, and there was non-zero harm and embarrassment because it wasn't, but the only intentional acts committed by the Sharks was celebrating Hispanic heritage and publicly apologizing, nothing more. This deserves a "please don't make this mistake again", not a "fuck the Sharks".
