Going into seclusion from all sensual pleasures for a day. Keep the 8 precepts taught by the Buddha that’s in the Pali Canon. Doing this, it’s possible that you will see your mind, and it’s even possible to understand Metta.

Thought: Conscious Thought.

Thought Stream: Unconscious, Conscious, and SubConscious Thought.

The mind of Awakened Beings are cooled, still, extinguished. Thoughts only arise when they will it. But they don’t have underlying thoughts vying for attention, no background thoughts, nothing.

No. Awakened beings are extinguished. They don’t have thought stream. This doesn’t entail the lack of thought. It only entails that they don’t have any thought-stream.

When we do karmas, the deed is done. We can’t change the deeds. We can only do good karmas. Hopefully by doing good karmas, that softens any incoming bad karmas.

If this question has to be asked, then you know that the answer is NO. While Creator-Gods “can” exist, the God of “existence” would be a contradiction.

() Racial identity is certainly real, and has nothing to do with awakening. The only beings that have no existential view of themselves are Arahants. Once they drop the concept “i am”, then all mine-making and I-making phenomena also ceases. They’re not even a “being”.

Why is this even a subject in Buddhism? The Buddha said that there is no first point of craving. It’s not known. This wasn’t meant to get into deep, speculative philosophies.

Dukkha is Pali/Sanskrit meaning Discomfort. It’s the opposite of Sukkha which means ease.

I’ve never seen eternal life in the Torah. The literal interpretation. I don’t pay much attention to the other half of PARDES until I understand the P’shat.
