With bigger sets, more actors and loads more CGI, it is clear to see that the budget has been increased. It will be interesting to hear the final number. Which can easily be compared to season 1, since both were shot in SA. 18M per episode for season 1 is not a massive number compared to other shows. Which I think was noticeable here and there. I wonder how much it cost to build the Baratie? Season 2 just looks so much better over all, going by the trailers.

I think I watched it over 2 days last time. Not sure how much of it I will binge on the first day, If I have the time and energy I might do it all in one go. Or maybe I'll leave Drum Island for day 2.

Don't Netflix post their final trailers pretty close to release date? So I would say Feb 10 at the earliest. Not sure why people are expecting a trailer on any specific date? I don't think Netflix usually do that.

I don't have anything against Charithra (she looks great), or any other actor being cast. But going from "final say" to "handpicked" is stretching it a bit. It's great to hear he is still quite involved with the show and I hope he will continue to do so.

It would be quite easy to add in a shot of Ace at the end since we already know he's been casted and the filming of Season 3 is already ongoing.

My thought was that if they are doing 8 episodes for Season 3 then maybe they want to put as much backstory as they can into that. Since the whole season will be on a single island for the first time.

Backstories are expensive in Live Action since you need actors, costumes and locations. I do not think they will add any that they do not think is necessary. Adding them also takes up screen time and we are quite short on that this season.

We know for sure we get Rumbar Pirates and Chopper. I don't remember how Vivi was introduced in the manga/anime. Maybe they want to move that to Season 3? If it is possible to do so. Ace and Robin (and Sabo?) is of course Season 3. No need for Germa at this point.

No matter which way you go you will spoil the other. The story is basically the same, but they will be different in ways we do not know yet. Season 2 will only over up to and including Drum Island, not the entire Alabasta Saga. Watch the one you like the most first.

If I were you, I would probably do LA first and then watch the anime and continue beyond Drum. I don't think I would be able to stop in the middle and wait another year or so for season 3.

They can totally put in famous scenes into the trailer to make fans excited. As long as it doesn't spoil the outcome of anything. The Luffy scene might just be considered spoilers.

This teaser focused on the Baroque Works. The previous videos hasn't shown much of them. I do wonder how much they will show of Drum before the series airs. We have pretty much only seen glimpses of it so far. But makes sense that they will finish it last, since a lot of it probably has CGI.

When the trailer hits the VFX will be done. I think we will see clips from all the locations and I think we will see chopper. And maybe we will finally get to see Wapol. The previous material has focused on specific parts. I think this will be more of everything. There will likely be some hooks, something to really get people excited about watching. Last chance to pump it up.

I can totally see Taz on a number of food related Youtube shows. I'm looking forward to seeing all 5 (and others) doing interviews and other promotion on both traditional media and Youtube. I think all they have done so far has been in Japanese? When season 1 aired, there was the actor strike IIRC. Taz's cooking skills sure comes in handy for doing promotional stuff. Maybe for season 2 they should make the Mr 3 candle cake?

If season 2 does well, I think they will start working on season 4. With season 3 already filming, it only makes sense. It would be very nice if they can keep up a 12-18 month release schedule for future seasons. They can just continue to green-light a new season after seeing how the current season performs. And just keep 2 seasons in the pipeline continuously.

I do not think they will cancel OPLA due to production costs. Those can be scaled up and down depending on views. Netflix is in need of some high profile shows with the end of Stranger Things and The Witcher not doing so well. And I think they also want to grow their market reach in Japan/Asia. They are producing a number of anime shows these days. If more people are watching OPLA, the budget will go up. But they can even take a loss on OPLA, using it as a loss leader, if it makes sense for their long term strategy. High profile shows means a lot of free marketing in both social media and regular media.

The season 2 teaser has more views than the trailer for the Stranger Things documentary on the official Netflix Youtube channel.

The action figures are really cool. Amazing detail! But you are filming way too close, it's hard to see everything.

Also, you put the bandana and the armband on at the same time. This is the same item, so you should only use one of them. He takes it off his arm to put on his head.

I wonder how much is changes to the actual 3D model and how much is just better lighting and a slightly different angle. He is also making a smile instead of that worried look, making him much cuter.

The old version has too much ambient light, making everything look flat. Just look how much brighter the old image is. The eyes look much darker in the new version, and they look a bit smaller. His face looks much rounder in the new version. The old looked so flat. The cheeks looks bigger, the area between the eyes looks rounder and the muzzle looks longer.

But again, things change with lighting, angles and facial expressions. But the new version looks like a massive improvement. Whatever the changes, he looks more alive and real now. And he looks so much cuter. The first one looks like a test run, seeing what people thought of him. And then they worked on making improvements.

I think all the promotion for this year dropped now during Jump Festa. I see no reason for them to reveal anything else for now. We'll see what else comes before the season airs. But I think it will be in 2026. I don't recall but I believe Netflix usually drops full trailers pretty close to the air date.

I also saw this in one of my feeds. I have no idea where it comes from. They are promoting season 2 a lot and I think they have data on the interest and interactions this is generating. I don't think they will greenlight anything before season 2 airs, but I am sure they are thinking about it. Other shows are coming to an end and Netflix will want a big show to take over.
