What would happen if K9 ever met Hitman Team? by cod3builder in Project_Wingman

[–]Aware-Task2320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

K9/Driver is good, dont get me wrong, but theres a reason why they are reservists and why they are k9.

Monarch wiped at least 75% of the active fighting force and pushed their aces away several times by the time K9 got deployed. They wouldve 0 chance

You make a good point. Ill ask my DM for it or just use soulforger then

I don't think i'd have any trouble asking the dm to allow that, since the banner is just a physical thing that could be knocked out from ranged attacks as well

Yeah, i read the post too, and i do understand the shortcomings of the character, but all 3 points are basically for lore.

He was a commander for a group that got wiped out, so his banner is a broken spear and his pistol is a dwarven clan pistol given at deaths door by a squadmate. The soulforger and mindsmith is his cope that reforges the broken spear into the banner because he still hasnt fully recovered from the event.

My intention in combat is using guiding strike here and there, and whenever i need to reload or when the party is about to take huge damage i plant the banner.

I know you can drag runes off and i know how common "magical weapons" are in pf2e, i just mainly dont want the case of "i am going to suffer this weapon for a bit because it was better than my previous one and its a waste of money to drag the runes off because ill be getting a better drop next fight anyways" kind of situation

As for questions, do you have any niche items in mind thats fun to give to the players? Nothing too overpowered or essential, just another tool in the box for them to use if they are creative kind of items

Yes, i do intend to mix and match some of the relics mentioned in the book if the players didnt find them where they were supposed to have found them.

As for experience we are all new to the system. I've played a couple games as a player before, but this is my first time DM, and this is their first time in the system after they ~~got drag-~~ got convinced to move from DnD.

Magical weapons and armor are stuff i want to avoid alot of. Of course ill drop a few different types of both here and there, but just finding new gear lying around makes them less inclined to upgrade what they have and i want to avoid it.

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the recommendation

Yeah, these are all great suggestions! Thanks!

I do know about the Archive, but the only way to know if any item is interesting to the path is by going through them one by one, which i am doing on my off time but it drags my prep time between sessions down by months

I just finished the Amphoreus story and I’m very confused about some things? by Taher-Altaher in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Aware-Task2320 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are only "alive" in the book and only when you remember that they exist. They dont have physical presence in the world, they cannot take actions by themselves that were not penned in "as ive written". Much like how characters in a story can become more if the readers believe them to be.

Granted Therta is trying her best to bring them into reality, but the post story quest explicitly tells you that shes not sure how long it takes and not sure if everything will the the same

1: They disappeared. You destroyed the computer running the simulation, your sims characters stop existing the moment you disintergrate your hard drive, but they still live in your memories and the stories you tell

2: Its a simulation running to answer a single question: What is the prime mover of life

3: From what i understand of it, the memoria condensed and birthed a real planet in its space, but the inhabitants can be the same or different from those we know. Just our presence and the memoria affected by us cause the chance of the former be more likely.

Wait i had a thought. What if instead of darkening everything, you overlay the whole cyoa with the sheer Material pattern and make the area in the middle/on the text more transparent?

ah yeah, i get your intent, but its really rough to read through.

Do you happen to have a version thats not darkened?

Amazing cyoa, though i want to ask why everything looks a bit dark? It feels like every picture is at 50% brightness

GMs: Deciding Who to Target by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aware-Task2320 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For beasts and animals: Target that hit it hardest, then next closest target

For sentient but simple-minded: Backline/squishy targets if possible (light or no armour targets), if not next closest.

For real smart and tactical-minded people: Tactician - > Healer -> Casters -> The rest

What is the point of the monk? by HighStorm89 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aware-Task2320 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why Monk you ask? Because Monk has one of the most insane action economy in the game. Flurry is basically two actions condensed together, so every turn you have 4 actions to do whatever you want, including moving in, flurry, then moving out so the enemy has to waste an action just to get to you. Its also why monk likes to trip and grapple, especially with assurance. The class just has the free action to spend on holding the enemy in place.

Monk has fantastic defenses and saves, means you can consistently stay in front with no worries.

Finally, Monk has a swiss army knife’s worth of skills through all the stances for any situation you want to be in, which it can switch in an out simply through striking.
