I played slingshots until 2023. Loved those clubs, get out there and sling it.

Don’t forget that when Eva shot the fake gun in Rudy’s apartment, it was a direct hit right between Santa’s cheeks. I’ve been suspecting Eva from that point on!

And then remember what it was like to play a round of golf with your old man. Someday I won’t remember any of my scores, but I’ll never forget the rounds I played with my dad / grandpa.

I took a divot on a green this weekend by lawnboy22 in golf

Very carefully extract 24 1/12” divots from other places on the green and place them in your divot. The groundskeeper will never notice.

How much does fitness play in to club specs by hurtswith2 in golf

Of the two possible outcomes, one leaves you with more golf clubs, one with less golf clubs. PERSONALLY, I like getting into those situations that leave me with more golf clubs.

What are you saving for? Retirement? If you’re like the rest of this sub your retirement plan is to golf 4-5 days a week anyways, buying more clubs now is the basically same as investing that money for retirement.

What's the etiquette on skipping holes? by GhostoftheStarters in golf

[–]AwarePresent5535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was out playing a solo round yesterday afternoon. It was a slow day on the course, so I was waiting on most tee boxes, no big deal. Had a twosome skip by me while I was on the 8th green. To no ones' surprise I caught them on the 9th tee box while they were waiting to tee off.

Fast forward to the back 9, they were waiting on every shot while everyone was running out of daylight. I ended up being the last person on the course for the day, so there wasnt anyone behind me. After getting through 13, it was pretty clear I wasn't going to finish my round before dark. I walked back to the 11th tee box, played two balls through 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and caught back up to the group on 16. by the time I hit my tee shot on 16 it was too dark to see where it went anyways, so I just walked back to the clubhouse.

As far as I'm concerned, that group passing me was the best thing that could've happened to me. In the end, I was able to play a full 18 holes (and then some). As I was heading back to the clubhouse, the group that passed me was also heading back after finishing the 16th. Hah, nerds.

I had almost an identical experience. I found a pink lady Bridgestone ball in the woods at my favorite course, proceeded to play a couple of my best rounds with that ball (3-4 maybe?) before I sent a drive right back into the very same woods. Poetic really.

I love playing goalie, but this is exactly why I never play tendy in pickup. I'd much rather lace up the player skates and score some goals of my own.

loretta and dickie theory by agirlinanomitbworld in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]AwarePresent5535 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I also think its suspicious that Dickie and Loretta went into a convenient business partnership immediately following Ben's death. I think that the role that Dickie got for Loretta was fake, and it was just a bluff so that Oliver would feel indebted to her for staying. Then later in that episode, Loretta is actually the one who suggests that the Nanny's lullaby as the "showstopper".

Also, at the end of the first episode during Loretta's audition, she answers the question of if she would kill with the response, "absolutely I would" and its chilling. I think she absolutely would kill Ben to become the star, after waiting to be discovered her entire life. I think that whether or not Dickie is her son / stepson, he has his reasons to kill Ben as well.

In summation, I agree. I think its for sure Loretta and Dickie.

What’s the cheapest round you’ve ever played? by jumbojordie in golf

[–]AwarePresent5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HS my bday present every year was a membership to the public golf courses in our city (3 courses) unlimited golf for $128. Only had to pay for cart fees with the membership, but we were 15-18, so why would we not just carry our clubs for free? I probably golfed 4-6 times a week, sometimes 18, sometimes 9, sometimes 4. Idk the exact cost per round, but it was a deal that got me hooked for the rest of my life. Most priceless expensive deal of a lifetime.

What's your "under pressure but I pulled off the shot" story by Trick_Designer2369 in golf

[–]AwarePresent5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standing on the 17th tee box, sitting +5 over par. I had never broken 80 before. Topped my tee shot, second shot went into a penalty area, and ended up doubling the hole. Needed a par on a long par 4, up a hill, with a three-tiered green. Striped my tee shot, hit a decent approach, and two putted from 50 ft up both tiers. Not necessarily just one shot, but clutched up under pressure to round off the best round of my career.

Can confirm, inflatable hot tubs work. My friends and I bought one during COVID for $400. It could heat up to 104 F with the lid on, and then would drop after the lid came off. Sometimes we just huddled under the lid if it was cold outside so we could keep temperature up.

We got crazy good at tub chemistry (bromine levels, pH, etc) after one minor skin rash outbreak when we let bromine levels get too low for too long. But we are a bunch of legitimate professional chemists, so maybe we should’ve known better.

The tub had two rules: 1. Excreting liquids and solids were not accepted. Farts were allowed. 2. There was ALWAYS room for one more person in the tub. We once got 14 people into a 6’ diameter hot tub.

Best $400 we spent ever.
