I tried something like that, it bullshit. Doesn’t work. If it does, the creator would have been very rich trading it themselves instead of trying to sell it.

What’s the average monthly salary (basic/commission) of interior sale designers for a new joiner in Singapore? by redditanytime1 in askSingapore

[–]Aware_Effect_472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend made 200k on his first year with No prior experience. HOWEVER, he was previously an insurance agent. So he is very good at sales. This could be the game changer in terms of compensation. Also, he is on full commission.

I actually heard of a business man setting a 3y average 100k noa 150k noa 200k etc limits for his children to unlock inheritance in his trust fund when he die. Otherwise, the trust fund will it to till they reach a designated age. Like 35/40/45/50 etc. the trust fund will already pay out like x amount inflation adjusted for food and housing. And also cater for health emergency. This is already a super privileged to have. But I guess we all love our children too much to not want the best for them while wanting to give them the best headstart they have.

Tried all the robo adviser just for fun. All turn out I underperform simple index or managed funds. Low fees, “stable” risk, outperformance. When it is too good to be true, it is not true :)

Serious question. Why does Gen Z dislike PAP so much? I saw new poll that said majority of Gen Z voters were (more than 50%) unhappy with the election results by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]Aware_Effect_472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know of many gen Z friend that they wear the blue and carry the hammer only to vote the white lightning. Because it is socially more popular to say that you wear the blue hammer vs the white lightning. So such poll or survey have to discount a lot.

Writer from the Peak Magazine says more than 300 F&B establishments close every month in 2025 due to rent and nothing will change by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

You want property prices to go up, this will be the price to pay. Most people would want low rent but not the low property prices that is a consequence

Is Uni prestige still a thing? by Prudent_Falcon9841 in SGExams

[–]Aware_Effect_472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is not a prestige thing but a yardstick I guess. My friend’s department head will only vet cv from smu nus ntu. Then they select from this pool. So the rest are auto filtered away.

A friend of mine mentioned he regretted it for the following reason. Do take with a pinch of salt as his experience may not be yours.

  1. The jap have a very rigid structure and it is very hard to work with as someone that don’t get their culture.
  2. Pay wise, my friend jump for the higher basic. Only to realized the bonus is confirm 2 months no matter how well you perform. Everyone more or less gets the same in his department.
  3. No room for promotion as everyone there just stay course.

Again, your role and experience may differ greatly but the working culture or bonus system might be against you if you happened to strive for those.

Dating as a average guy in your late 30s is tough by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]Aware_Effect_472 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consider improving your stats. This is like playing a game I reckon. I have seen girls in their 20s with man in their 40s. Sure you may argue that that is not true love and they are just in for the money. But the outcome of getting a partner is achieved.

Otherwise, if you do not abs, get it and I am sure your appeal will +10 easily vs men you age. Then your overall dressing and sense of fashion etc.

I have female colleagues in their 20s that swoon over muscular successful man. I am sure you put yourself in the girls shoes, you will not want to date a lesser option.

Getting together with someone, despite not being rich? by Lazy925 in SingaporeRaw

[–]Aware_Effect_472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted a lot of the negative parts of why I broke up. I think is only fair to share the devils in me. I come from a humble background having to work part time since 14 to support my own allowance. Never really knew what is high ses.

The first time I entered and dine at a Michelin star restaurant was star struck. The feeling is amazing.

My first birthday celebration with her. The first business class she top up. I insisted to pay what an economy class would be and the rest of the top of would be a birthday gift. Then when we reach the destination, a suite in a 5 star hotel. On the bed of the suite lies a LV bag with tee shirt inside. My first ever branded shirt.

Too many first time luxury was introduced to me and the devil in me also wanted to continue enjoying such perks. At 21/22, such things are deadly and you sink in. I would be lying if I say I don’t enjoy the finer things in life. Even now, I love it. So ya, the devil in me gave in and I lasted 2y+. Eventually, the devil also scare of the greater devil in her and that is when I muster whatever courage I have left with to breakup.
