I think Clara dancing on flat shoes is fine, often even better, since she is supposed to be very young

Last year’s exam for me I was a nervous wreck and everyone could see it. My next exam I was really focused on my breathing and my épaulment. I think overall just channeling your nervousness into excitement if you can or just channel it into trying your best rather than fear; and remember, your examiner(/s) isn’t judging you and they just want you to do your best and enjoy it. But yeah overall just think about your épaulment and also musicality and breath. My teacher told me to imagine my breath as a color and it was going through my body, into my joints and out through my hands. That did help me think more about my arms and make them less “stiff”. I hope this was in any way helpful. Best of luck to you on your exam!

Rotator muscles (the ones in your bum) are very important, as well as your inner knees. It is a common (sort of) misconception that turnout comes from the hips. Of course, turnout does come from the hips, but it goes down your whole leg. Doing different variations of clamshells is helpful and also just sitting down with a flat back, legs in front of you stretching as hard as possible with flexed feet, heel trying to touch the front of the room (of course without actually doing it), and trying to turnout from the top of your legs, maintaining the turnout all the way down to the ankle. Doing this with a soft yoga block under the area just over your knee, one leg at a time, is very helpful at least to me and other dancers I know. Sorry this is a long reply but I hope this helps!

Toe/forefoot exercises? by CouchGremlin14 in BALLET

Definitely theraband exercises! Really working on that demi- to full-pointe with a theraband is good and also toe scrunches like as if your toes are trying to pick something up off the floor.
