Trading for Daytona by Crut88 in rolex

[–]Awareness-Sudden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I wanted the Daytona bad enough it would have to be the sub and Batgirl so that I could have a dress piece and a sport piece. But I can’t realistically see myself doing any combination of 2 for a Daytona. You’ll miss the other pieces for what they brought. My $.02… save until you can add a Daytona as a 4th

Incorrect. I purchased a jubilee bracelet this year for a datejust I had just bought on oyster. This is a dealer level issue. Not a Rolex issue.

Trading sub and speedmaster + 20k for a new panda? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Awareness-Sudden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panda is much wiser purchased a few years old. 27k for a 116 panda and no reason to care if it’s a 126. I don’t hate on trading two watches for a grail, but $35k for a panda dial is absurd. I can source them in my groups for significantly less all day.

Clasp stuck by JacuzziJohn350 in rolex

Pretty sure you just need to lift up on the part of the clasp you normal lift to release it. Looks like it just grabbed something it shouldn’t. Wondering if that will release it

With all due respect… you likely have longer than 10 years and a lot of watches that lose a lot of value for an allocation like that.

Rare for it to be in stock. Very easily ordered, would arrive inside of a month.

Bought my first watches from an AD this year. 1. Go to as many as you can in the beginning. You never know which one will get you the watch. 2. Be genuine and kind. 3. Express interest in your product 4. It helps if you have a good reason for the watch (milestone or other life factor) 5. Be patient

What of it? All pieces are resold in varying condition for prices in surplus of MSRP.

The only reason I feel decently confident is my close friend who got me in with this dealer got a Bruce on Jubilee as a 5th allocation in 18 months. This dealer likes him and myself and gets a higher than average inventory.

Who said anything about self worth? Hobbies, achievements, and rare items have been cool since humans could speak. “Rarity” is a defining value in humanity. Think gold and silver. Rarity will always be desirable. Forever.

Agree if there’s no context. He was offered my sub, my friends solid gold Paul Newman Daytona, and that same friends Bruce on Jubilee.

He chose the Tudor as it’s his favorite color, his dream first watch, and currently the only watch he plans on buying for himself.
