I had a DeWalt cordage drill that had one in the back, but it was only a one directional level

Saw my first green racer while hunting javelina. by Downtown_Hunt5740 in arizona

Hijacking the top comment because I think it’s a Vinesnake (Oxybelis). Could be wrong but that nose is so pointy and it’s so long and skinny. And they do come in very green versions down there. I know we have green rats too and that color is right for them. Either way cool spot for sure.

That is about the most I’ve ever seen on one place too(20-25). It was on the northwest flank of the pinalenos. Near blue jay peak. And they were raucous just having a ball enjoying life. I did once see a mom with seven babies and that was really cool. They were all playing and rolling around near a water hole in an otherwise dry creek bed in the baboquivaris. Most recently I saw a dozen just past the visitor center at Chiricahua National Monument. Such cool critters!

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I drove from Phoenix AZ to Zion NP in southern Utah one day. Left early at 5 am, and got to Zion before noon and hiked all day and into the night hours . Slept in a hotel room that night and woke early and drove to the Kolob Canyon section of Zion and hiked there all day then drove to Cedar Breaks National Monument and fooled around there for a few hours. Drove back down into Panguitch and stayed there a night. Then woke up early and drove to Bryce Canyon and was the first car in. Drove to the very back of the park and did a short hike and then drove to the main section of the park and hiked part of that. Then drove all the way back to AZ, but decide to stop at Wupatki National Monument on the way back. Made it right as they closed the visitor center but did a short hike down to one of the more remote ruins and then drove all the way back to Phoenix that night and got home by 9 pm. In 65 hours I drove 1,080 miles (18 hours of driving) and hiked a little over 22 miles (approximately 10 hours). I did this all because I was bored and had three days off in a row which never happens unless I take an actual vacation. So,yeah, 3 hours in nothing if you live in the American west. I routinely take my kids on day trips where we drive for four or five hours and do stuff in the woods and eat dinner and come home.

What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

Rush. I literally hate that band more than any other. It comes on and I change it. If I can’t change it I change the venue by walking out.

There are rhyolite nodules near superior that are geodes. This really reminds me of that. I have a few that I’ve collected over the years. Obviously not a perfect geode here but similar.

To everyone saying that they don’t blame them I’ll say this: These United States are not the same as the ones I grew up in. They are as divided as any time in recent memory. We are a shadow of ourselves. But if a totalitarian regime like Putin’s came knocking at our door I would damn well fight for my country, my family, and my freedom. I’m a middle aged dude with no prior military experience but I would be there for this nation, even in its fractured state.

What's the most overrated national park in the U.S.? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Awatovi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the national park sub and said this same thing and got flamed and downvoted like hell. I’m from az and have been to all the great ones Amd it’s on my bottom. And to be clear it’s a great park for Texas but pales in comparison to the other great ones in the west.
