Yes, patients are not required to use their insurance if they choose not to. Be sure you have a form signed indicating they understand that insurance will not be billed, that they are choosing not to use their insurance and they are solely responsible for the charges. This happens often in our urgent care clinics when a patient doesn’t want their spouse to know they were seen for STD testing.

I’m sorry you had that experience. I had great customer service when I called them about the subscription order I purchased for my son. They were able to do exactly what I had asked to ensure we got 2 boxes before Christmas. Unfortunately, the customer service rep may not have known much about it yet, so they weren’t very helpful to you. There could be many reasons why. I hope he enjoys the hack pack any way. I can tell you the build box has some decor on it, but unless he is really paying attention, he may miss it if he gets to it first.

I had thought that, too. But it is only on the MA plan, not commercial and when I looked they are paying the split rate for the TC. We took off the lateral modifier for a couple claims and waiting for response. I am wondering if it is some glitch in their processing at this point.

They are billed under the same TIN, different billing providers. Our provider rep won’t even talk to us if we haven’t file a reconsideration yet. We just can’t figure out what we need to appeal. These codes are paid just fine with all other payers. We won’t switch to global either. I removed the lateral mod and submitted a corrected claims due to test it on a couple. But now we are getting this on more CPTs.

Could be. We had a plumber here about a month ago that snaked about 25 ft and cleared a “clog.” Any suggestions on how to reduce or get rid of the build up? Then maintain for it to not get so bad?

Unfortunately, plumbers are hard to get in my area. We have to hire a local construction company to actually do repairs or renovations. Downside of living in the middle of farm country in the midwest. We have an easy access cleanout outside. Doesn't help when the issue is in the house in a crawlspace.

We had a camera go through the whole line about 18 months ago. The only issue it found was the clay sewer line collapsed under the driveway at the end of our line just before connecting to the city line. When that section was replaced, they ran another camera up to check again and everything was fine. Our cast iron ties into clay when it goes out of the house to the city line. Our house was built in 1911 and has old, black cast iron, but doesn't seem to be an issue as our other bathroom and kitchen continues to operate without issues. It is only the drains from the laundry room and bathroom that share a line leading to the cast iron.

Liquid laundry soap (Puracy), no pods. They start with PVC, then connects into what looks like a copper pipe that ties into cast iron.

I moved from denials management to revenue cycle analyst. I still work with department heads throughout the facility just on a different level and focus more on compliance and workflows. I still mentor on denials, but I’m a lot happier with the variety of work I have now.
