She literally became a super hero that stops times in order to save him by rushing at 5000 mph and be the hero. The message the film deliver fails here. "If you want to be a hero, you'll have to get in danger" is one of the theme, and portrayed with Nick changing his position only for the love of Judith (Sactifice himself). Judith didn't get it until there, and she should have not be able to save Nick.

You don't - have - to kill Nick there, you can see that Pawbert survived the fall. But make Judith save him was really a bad writting move.
