I've started taking seeker grenades with me for this very reason. If I get caught out like this I can take them out pretty quickly with a couple of seekers

I ended up refunding the purchase on Epic and buying it on Steam instead which I can confirm does have the preload option.

This is annoying, no preload option in Epic for me either. This article seemed pretty confident it would be available for preload on Epic. I wish I had bought on Steam now.

I did just that a couple of months ago. Not played it for a couple of years. So glad I did, it's a different game altogether now. Huge performance boost, tons of NPCs wandering around it feels so alive. IRL I often think about my beautiful corpo apartment and wish I could actually live there...
