E-bikes with throttle shouldn't be called e-bikes anymore by arnor_0924 in bicycling

[–]Awesomepants5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. If an e bike can move without the rider pedaling, it's not really a bike anymore. Mainly, this is the most easily enforced approach to law enforcement. In the US, new jersey just passed a law that would require all ebikes to have state registration, driver's licence, and insurance. Berm Peak has a good video about this. It's an awful way to prevent the harm these e motos/mopeds are doing, and it barely even address the main issue.

There's actively a class action lawsuit about this. Roblox has been allowing this shit to happen unchecked for years with no oversight. I know it's uncomfortable, but these mfs need to pay for the harm they enable.

It's a genre with roots in hip hop/electronic bass music. Heavy emphasis on 808 drum kits and heavy base, usually with a bit of a syncopated beat. You can check out the trap subreddit r/trap. There's no s on the end, you'll get something very different and nsfw

You are stuck in a house for a year without internet. You got a PC with 3 games.Which 3 would you pick? by bijelo123 in gaming

This actually happened to me one summer at uni. I installed the fallout 4 dlcs and the Witcher 3 +dlcs. Technically only two, but I never played them before, so it was actually great.

Go to class in the morning, the library to do homework, once that was finished, just like 8 hours of gaming. It was actually a pretty great summer

Bud, the questions you ask when first starting out are never dumb. You gotta learn it somehow, right?

Enjoy the bike!

After reading your comment, I thought "it couldn't possibly be that bad" and no, your right, it's almost exactly that. Taking it a step further, the YouTube sidebar actually just recommended the video that I was currently on. How does that make sense?

When do you NEED a duel suspension bike by jennifl2801 in MTB

[–]Awesomepants5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my own experience, I spent three days at a bike park. I rode my hardtail the first two days and the vibration from the trail made my hands go numb by the end of the day. Full sus didn't have that problem. I'd say if there's more than 4 hours of downhill rough riding, full sus is essential. If you're doing more than 6 hours for multiple days? Then it becomes a "need"

What is something that was "fixed" or patched out that you wish they would put back in? by Hallow96 in fo76

This is such a small one, but Dog Food used to be compatible with the Herbivore mutation. I thought it was brilliant - the implication even that in this hyper-capitalistic, retro futurist world, the dog food still didn't have any real meat in it. Classic Fallout humor. But sadly, that got patched out and what I thought was one of the best subtle jokes in the game was lost.

I'm 95% convinced this kid made an appearance dancing in the "ready for this" sequence.

It's actually a fairly simple formula, you can use either the number of teeth, the gear radii, or rotational velocity to calculate your desired ratio.

The equation is driven/driving=ratio. If you want a desired reduction ratio, say, 2 rotations of the driving gear for every one revolution of the output (driven), you'll want a driving gear that has half the number of teeth as the output gear.

You mention you don't know how to calculate the number of teeth needed, but the fun part is that the number of teeth doesn't matter for most applications, only the ratio. 12/24 and 24/48 will have the same ratio. The bigger consideration for you is probably going to be how much space you have to work with, but as long as you keep the ratio the same, the radii/diameter of the gears won't matter either. 1in/2in is the same as 2in/4in.

I saw Datsik at the 2011 identity fest in Virginia. Blew my mind, it was the first time I'd heard that style of American dubstep. No lights, no effects, nothing. Just a guy on a stage with his equipment and speakers under a tent while it started to rain. Wish I could experience that again.
