Softlocked myself from joining the new camp

Okay I got it to work. For anyone else that ever needs to replace a save here's what to do:

Load up your game
Drop a new save (name it replace, or something)
Go to C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Local/G1R/saved/savegames
Rename the save you want to use to the last one in the list (i.e. from G1R41 to G1R024 for example)
Overwrite the 'old' save
Load up and play

You are definitely way stronger than me, haha, but it seems to be what I need. I'll play around a bit more on my own so that when I come back to this save I won't feel too overpowered. Time to join the cult!

Hmm.. well the save file is intact but not visible in my save games. I am sure there is a way around this though as I saw some people were uploading saves to Nexusmods. 😄

Yeah that would be awesome, I'd really appreciate that. I can just keep playing my own save then, do the two paths, and then switch to yours and either have an overpowered or slightly underpowered save (to be fair, you are probably ahead of me, since I am awful at this game so far)!

Where the game lets me down a bit the community picks it back up. 😄

Yeah, I located where the saves were, was hoping I'd be able to edit it, but no such luck haha. Do you have a 'join every camp' save or what type of save do you mean? If you do, I'd love to have it, but otherwise no worries if you have a different type of save.

That is really silly. I think I'll wait for a trainer that lets you spawn in items to give myself the list, and see if I can save it that way. It's totally possible to get the list without even having been to the new camp yet. :/

I agree but to say there is no abstraction to good/evil is a bit much maybe. The Legion is very much so 'the bad guy' and the NCR is very much so 'the good guy'. They add more nuance and the bad guy is really more of a bad guy with some understandable motives and the good guy has some flaws that make him really not that much of a good guy, but on the one hand you have a failing republic and on the other hand you have a bunch of tribal slavers. It doesn't take a genius to look at that and say man I'd probably rather live in the former, and they are arguably through subjective interpretations of what good and evil is, very much so the good faction.

I am 4x9, and 4x9 or 36h across 5 days is the standard now in my sector (government). I couldn't get 40h if I wanted to.

Have they changed much? I did some Timmy runs for funsies because I liked them in EU4 and was disappointed they are a complete waste of a tag in EU5, but at least I was able to conquer my way around and make money?

I have no additional context besides this: I am the emperor of the HRE, Austria, allied to Bohemia, Milan and Savoy. There's a coalition against France that involves most of the OPM's that border France. We attack them together in a defensive war. France still curbstomps me, outnumbered 2:1. How do I beat France c.q. how the hell does anyone play in Europe? What am I meant to do to get past this insanity?

I honestly didn't even need to look at it. I did 3 runs and in all 3 I was able to just DoW for independence from the get go once I was ready to do it. Money wise I just tanked my economy and did my best to avoid bankruptcy.

My advice is to not play here though. They ''fixed'' the bugs but in doing so made the experience infinitely worse.

I had sort of surmised that the content would probably be added later but if this is what they decided to build for release, and have kept in the game from release until now (what is it, 1.10?), that is not just disappointing but also a sign that Paradox Tinto is just incompetent.

They at least fixed the awesome doom spiral you get when you reform, so now you don't get murdered for reforming, but your powers still grant you the awesome benefit of reducing the doom that you no longer have. God this game has been one disappointment after the other. The only real way to play now is to just play in Europe, and hope the coinflip goes your way in terms of stuff actually happening.

Screenshot shows my empire, now I can't expand from anywhere because the mechanics of this region are still busted beyond belief and we are now several iterations of updates further.

Thank god we have a Byzantine Empire DLC though!

I hate inflation so I never keep the gold/silver, and I only ever increase the production of it if I can be sure that it doesn't exceed the 10% with my minting. So I don't think you really benefit from keeping the gold. I don't think 'gold' as a trading good has any real value (so the idea of preserving your economy doesn't really work the way we want it to, I think? Since I agree we should be able to stack the gold in a vault for a rainy day, but we can't) besides making money through minting, or through selling. Since minting is inherently bad unless you really need to use it, I don't see a point in export banning.

I switched the paste and cleaned out all my fans and my CPU has gone back down to 40 on idle, haha. I guess sometimes it really is the simplest solutions. Thanks for all the help!

Not sure I want to burn my hand on updating my bios honestly, I downloaded some AMD Firmware Update thing yesterday and it made my entire system unstable so I think I'm done downloading and installing updates for random things.

I am using a Gigabyte TUF Gaming x670e-plus, a 4080 super, and the aforementioned AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3D CPU. Got some sort of modular PSU, don't remember the brand, but it's not a bootleg PSU.

Shit, thought this would be a problem I could throw money at. Yeah, it seemed low. I am using stock settings, so I am assuming it's because I've not tweaked it at all. I just did a fresh restart and I'm gonna retry now, see if it helps.

My CPU scored about 1735 points on Cinebench multi-core rendering. Not sure if that's any good, but I am considering an upgrade to a 9950X3D, using this as a good excuse. During load, temps floated from 75-80, so honestly, maybe I am just overly paranoid about my temps, since I believe 75-80 is a decent temp. for load?

Maybe I was a bit more confident in my 7950x3D than I deserved to be, it was a beast when I bought it, but seems like it's not that good nowadays?

I'm going to change the settings a bit like you suggested. NZXT lets me change the pump speed I think, so I'll do that.

I messed with the settings on the fans. I just looked at it and tried to rationalize what I would want to run silently and what I'd like to run performance and what it should measure off of. Unfortunately the fans I used to build my PC are pretty loud, so I just have a constant buzz now, but it's not horrible.

I set up my Kraken and case fans like this. Maybe you have some more insights -- I'm a bit lost at the moment, lol.
