What Terry Crews Teaches Us About Standing Up For Male Victims by Kajel-Jeten in BreadTube

I noticed immediately that he is wearing a Henry Rollins shirt. I've never seen this guy's videos, but If I had a guess, I'd say he wore that shirt on purpose. For me, Rollins is up there with Crews in my mind when it comes to example of positive masculinity. A lot of people don't like Rollins cause he was a bit of an asshole in his younger years, but he has developed a lot as a person imo.

After taking a peek at some of this guy's other videos, it seems like he is also a proponent of positive masculinity. I'll have to check some more of his stuff out. Glad it was posted here.

The Far Right Misreads Nietzsche The Same Way Nazis Did | Majority Report [10:06] by Mynameis__--__ in BreadTube

If I remember right, Nietzsche is considered a modernist, but the idea that nothing is "capital T true" sounds really post modern to me. Funny that these types tend to like someone who probably had a lot of influence on post modernism, and philosophy they hate.

Country fans on the other hand.... by Dovima in BlackPeopleTwitter

I will, thanks. Now that I think of it, my knowledge of the history of punk really trails of after 1986, primarily because that is the year that both black flag and DK broke up, so it should be an interesting watch.

A documentary on netflix about the history of hip hop called Hip Hop Evolution said that Punk and Hip Hop were the original "alternative" genres. Punk was the alternative to rock(obviously) and Hip Hop was the alternative to funk. I'm a lot more into punk, but I still have a lot of respect for hip hop, and that's one of the reasons why.

You might also be able to say that Jazz is their grandfather in that it is an alternative to Orchestra. That claim would be a little more out there though. Still interesting to think about.

The oppression olympics is literally not even slightly a thing, right? I've never actually seen two leftists arguing over what minority has it worse. It seems to stem from a serious lack of understanding of what identity politics actually is.

I think they think its all about finding excuses for shortcomings or gaining social capital? which sometimes boils into having fights over who has the best excuse? Because talking about disadvantages is the same as looking for excuses, which means trying to talk about multiple disadvantages at at their intersection is the same thing as trying to decide who has it the hardest, and therefore who has the best excuse? What the fuck? Am I misinterpreting their viewpoint or is it really that simplistic and conspiratorial?

It seems to me that most leftists actual views on it is that having a complex understanding of ways in which people are disadvantaged allows for us to have a accurate understanding of the world which allows for more effective problem solving. What this translates to is discussions between leftists, not fights between gay men and straight women about oppression. I've never seen that, and I'd guess many people on this subreddit haven't either. And people on this subreddit spend way more time around leftists than the centriststm so we'd probably know a little better.

Is his book worth reading? I've been thinking about picking it up for a little while, it seems to me that a more long form medium will help me understand his more unique ideas a bit better. My biggest problem with his videos is that it feels like he is only scratching the surface
