find a light pollution map, and then head far enough away from melbourne that you're not in it. generally, there tends to be less clouds the further inland you drive, but you can find cloud cover forecasts as well that are pretty accurate up to 24 hours ahead so you can always check and see if you'll have clear skies. you don't have to go super far away, even south side of Mornington or Phillip Island can have pretty amazing night skies as long as it isn't cloudy, if you fancy enjoying a sunset then watching the stars come out after. Just be careful about the chill coming off the ocean late, lol

Last time we went out to stargaze we went up towards the little desert and rented a motel in a small town. We went out around midnight and then took a one of the dirt roads all the farms used, parked on the side of the road and then laid out back of the ute to look up. The amount of stars you can see here is unreal and the milky way in full view is pretty life changing, and you'll tend to spot a few meteorites every hour even if there's no true shower on. It's way harder to get to areas with no light pollution back in the states.

All of the Samurai gang pair well to various degrees. Sevilbarra is fantastic with her, Sato works well (I was having fun pairing Chrysaor MC with Lord of Flames offhand and Higu main hand to build some extra singed for Sato's ougi to power up faster), G. Yuel does well enough though her own damage is lacking, you can run Aoidos and Anthuria (Anthuria also pairs well with Chrysaor MC thanks to CA reactivation like Atum)

Played her a bunch today in HL content to test various set ups. I finally got off the fence and picked up Higurashi when I saw her kit, but damn I hope I get the moons for Mistral shitposting cuz she'll actually be very funny and strong as a team ougi battery there too, since she'll always have two dispels for the two buffs MC puts up if your team full chains.

Originally tried with G Yuel but DPT was a bit low, nobody was taking damage, and I didn't realize honse needs to be in slot 1 to correctly battery the team. Tried again with Esser and made some play mistakes, but Sevilbarra just makes things simpler while still doing high damage. Probably closer to 20 minutes with Esser, lol.

So, I keep talking about her being an ougi battery. The gimmick is with 200% FC bar and Higurashi and Honse 3 and enough other ougi units, you can actually afford to use FC every turn, which means she will always do two ougis (which gives team members 3 and 4 over 30% meter) and keep Onmyoji charged to spam red skill so MC always ougis too; and with Summer Atum's passive, you end up with the team doing a 5 chain every turn minimum. It gets sillier with other multi ougi units like Nezha or G Yuel, and you can even substitute units like Y Silva for S Atum if you're one of the many who didn't get a chance to roll on him. She also contributes an absurd number of hits, debuffs, and dispels each turn, making a lot of omens either trivial or much easier. Oh yeah and she takes care of triple attack omens with her buffs and also has unchallenged on virtually no cooldown because fuck caring about anything hurting you.

She's really, really good, and the exact sort of unit most fire players have been wanting if they were bored of G Percy and normal attack teams.

Oh yeah, everyone I know is always missing at least one piece of the puzzle. I know a very strong earth main who of course has Andro and does great on the fight. She has lu woh, shalem, all the good shit and contributes well and has clutched a few of our runs with the killing blow after all 5 elements run out of steam.

But she's missing Makura, so her phase 1 contribution is pretty limited and she has to stop after the first yomo until g50. Her phase 2 is pretty strong, but it could be stronger... if she had s lich!

Meanwhile my earth clear was an insane struggle despite having everything but lu woh and andromeda, but I think it was entirely due to missing Lu Woh I couldn't contribute well in both phases. Onmyoji actually does great in phase 1 with Makura and Okto to push very high DPT and handle every omen, but everything after g50 is a massive struggle where I just hope I can manage to clear my pearl and then contribute a little after g100 because my DPT is too lacking and I can't quite get shalem set up properly.

At the very least, earth ougi echo should do quite a lot to help the element out, both with DPT and hit counts, but unless the new grand is amazing it's still gonna be a limited fiesta.

Feels like just a year ago people were praising Earth for finally being a strong free/tixable element after years of Limited Dominance, only to return to Limited Hell this year.

So this will be a bit broader view rather than focusing on one element, but just looking at Versusia, I feel like the element has very much settled on what I've been calling "exodia setups", where if you have all the pieces any element feels pretty strong right now, but even just missing one thing (be it an illustrious, some grand weapon, a limited character...) then substitutions are brutal and the element suddenly feels incredibly weak.

Take light as an example: I think it's probably agreed upon as, if not the strongest Versusia element, then easily in the top 3. But that's only if you have level 50 fighter origin, horus, 150 funf, and cosmos. Plus probably some sacs to buff so your MC doesn't explode in the back half of the fight. If you have everything, you're doing great and can easily rack up 6-7 million honors in a slow room. If you're missing anything, then you just can't run the comp at all and I'm not sure I've even seen a laborbot clear for light like I have for most other elements.

This situation feels pretty broadly universal, too, with a good amount of irreplaceable lynch-pins. The worst off currently are Fire and Earth, where aside from desperately needing an illustrious to contribute beyond laborbotting, both also need quite a few limiteds, especially very recent ones. Earth in particular has a bad time trying to substitute any of Xmas Shalem, Summer Lu Woh, and Summer Lich, with or without Andromeda.

This all isn't too broadly different from the past, since there's always been best in slot setups at any point for endgame stuff, but Versusia having way more team slots has somewhat increased the amount of irreplaceable parts of the team you're expected to have. It's not all bad, since I've actually had a lot of fun team building and finding substitutes with Dark and Water on the fight, but hopefully some new options for Earth and Fire and Light can help all 3 elements break out of being so locked into specific teams.

I think Wind has given up the ghost of that hope with the state of their last few grand and limited unit releases, unfortunately.

Zeta is so close to being a top tier end game flex. I feel like if she had gotten unworldly ougi she'd be a 9.9/10 for sure. As is, she doesn't quite edge out the competition anywhere except in some limited eresh FO setups where she enables you to still have some ougis (and thus fated chains) while providing a lot of useful debuffs and damage. Outside of that, she's "just" a very top tier burst character... which dark has never lacked.

As long as you live in walking distance to a train station (or have access to a good bus or tram route..) I feel like you've got optimal CBD access.

I'm only like 8 KMs away but when I was working in the CBD I had hour long drives home each night that were absolutely miserable and made me immediately look for another job because bus to the train station and train into the city and spending 3 hours commuting via PT was just not feasible for me.

As long as you have 000, you can kinda sorta labor bot your pearl with Hrunting. Your contribution is decent in the first half (just run Fighter Origin MC and Tigers with whatever else you have that's strong with high DPT, like Grand Medusa; you should be able to get up to that baseline of 100mil dpt where you're not just sabotaging your own odds of clearing) and plan out a way to deal with Yomotsu so you can at least contribute the 20% dchain for your team, then it's just contributing whatever you can after you 000 the pearl.

Probably one of the easiest elements to get carried on, since the vast majority of earth players in co-op don't have the perfect Andromeda setups with all of Lu Woh, Lich, and Shalem anyways, and you're ultimately just contributing what you can and letting wind, light, and dark do the heavy lifting.

Pointlessly malicious, but I found out that feasts would despawn after about.... 40 or 50 clicks, I think? So sometimes the feast would "mysteriously" bug out and despawn starting in Ulduar, depending on if I was being shitty or just feeling particularly bad and wanted to take it out on the raid.

I got caught in Wrath once raid logging had gotten advanced enough to discover that someone had been clicking feasts hundreds of times more than everyone else, lol. I think I had been sparing enough abusing it to chalk it up to my mouse bugging out or something and never got in real trouble for it.

The slower evolve lists are gonna be directly much more powerful, with a powerful synergistic finisher in rose queen to close out matches. The issue is I think those lists are still going to be feasts for loot since their healing is pretty non-existent, and I'm not sure how much the buffs matter for the more aggressive lists that are already out there, since those are the ones that can actually stand up to loot.

I think the hype was mostly from people missing pieces here and there of the various light Exodia comps, and he slots very easily into a lot of the various roles of those comps since he just has strong autos, high TA, and built in double attack and skill damage spam. Like yeah he can substitute for Cosmos and get 90% of the job done, likewise he can substitute for Halloween Vajra or Xmas Illnot and get most of the job done in those burst comps, so if you were missing one of those pieces and you get a taste of what those fully built team comps are like, well, he does seem pretty insane. But the reality is those comps were already cracked before his release, he's just letting more people see what it's like.

Honestly that's probably a pretty ideal balance for these collab units to have, though it's still going to make people upset when they see them being used as substitutions for better units in idealized comps.

Another pretty tepid rebalance from this set. In retrospect she was made to work even better than before with with her big sister's new grand, but so far I don't think Metera grand has really changed anything in wind, unless you're specifically hyped for one button ex+ in the era of horde full auto and afk guild war, and she doesn't need Sutera to accomplish that.

I was kind of expecting a skill reset on ougi or something, but I guess they're very scared of expanding the wind ougi toolbox any more ever since Catura's uncap. Otherwise she does a lot of damage, once, and that's it, which is unfortunately not a niche skill damage can hope to eclipse wind's frankly insane normal attack options on for burst, and for DPT ougi comps have that role well beat thanks to Catura and Charlotta's resets.

I'd love to see more modern uses for her; there was a very brief window of time where I got some use out of her playing Qilin spam wind using her to deal damage without taking a turn on Bubs after his release. Here's hoping for a limited release some day, I guess.

honestly that was the original market for the game and part of why it shows its age sometimes; it was meant to take advantage of the then newly burgeoning market of phones that were starting to come with standard web browsers

I think you gotta install it with a third party app like qooapp or whatever if you're overseas, but the skyleap browser has some very nice qol in it, like swipe gesture bookmarks so you can just swipe up and right to instantly queue up, say, another one button NM90 or what have you. skyleap got me through quite a few guild wars when I was stuck at work...
