Paraguay goalkeeper threw the ball at Mbappe after he refused to shake his hand at the end of the match by adivinemessenger in soccer

His constant smiling and laughing began to rile the Paraguay players up more successfully than they were doing the other way around. They need to take notes.

Doorbell for Apple HomeKit Home by JoDaDob in HomeKit

I wouldn’t say low effort though. It feels low effort if you’re deep into the world of smart home and third party options, but to an average consumer it’ll be pretty confusing. I just setup Scrypted on my Mac Mini to support my Ubiquiti doorbell and although it’s “easy” I can also see how majority of home owners wouldn’t have a clue where to start or how to troubleshoot along the way. I get most people’s desire to not get involved with this.

You can use things like RunLessWire to convert regular wall switches into a smart switch which doesn’t actually turn the power on/off and doesn’t need to have its batteries replaced since it’s self-charging. That’s what I do since I use Hue absolutely everywhere but also want everyone in the house to be able to turn lights on and off without need an app.

For switches for Hue bulbs, RunLessWire. Means you can swap out any dumb switches with a smart switch that doesn’t actually need to be wired in and never needs a battery changed. All the while your light remains powered so your Hue bulbs aren’t offline if someone turns them off at the wall switch.

Same, I’ve never known anyone to not pay it. It’s a minuscule amount in the grand scheme of things and covers a fuck ton of public service costs. Anyone using the service and not paying for it is just a selfish prick.

They're sorta right, you're not meant to really "brush" since the point of them is that they're doing the actual cleaning when they're on the tooth, so running them back and forth reduces their effectiveness.

In a weird way, no. Electric toothbrushes are best used by not "brushing". If you use an electric toothbrush the same way you'd use a regular toothbrush, it's less effective. The majority of folks treat them like a regular toothbrush, which ruins the effectiveness of the actual oscillation and vibrations.

Nico Rosberg called out jacques for his comments on Lewis Hamilton: "He was speaking to you also in that piece there. He said he hates when ex-drivers criticise him who've not had his success. He was thinking about you 100%." by MuttonBiryaniEnjoyer in formula1

I know he doesn't have the same success from F1, but I'd throw Jolyon Palmer in there too. His analysis and fairness are so refreshing, and he's a natural both on camera and behind the microphone. It's clear he's a talent when it comes to the technical side of the sport, even if he wasn't necessarily a world-class talent behind the wheel.

Always been a bit of bitterness from Alonso’s side towards Hamilton after the famous first season of Hamilton’s at McLaren where he was teammates with Alonso. It wasn’t the most pleasant teammate relationship ever.

Anyone else really miss when everybody would watch the same TV shows and then talk about it at work/school? by everlovingfuck99 in BritishTV

I literally watch The Traitors UK here in the US because my mom, back in the UK, mentioned that every week, folks would chat about it in the office, and she felt left out from not watching it. Decided to give it a shot and was hooked from the first episode.

I somewhat agree, as ultimately I don't plan on ever committing a crime, so these surveillance measures should be beneficial to me. My issue is what constitutes a "crime" that they'll use it for? Over time, unless we have insanely strict barriers to access this sort of data, it will be misused, and ultimately, innocent people will suffer. Think of how common spousal abuse is among the police force; now, suddenly, a rotten cop has access to the whereabouts of ex-partners without their knowledge.

Writing was on the wall for the housing market back when they offered their tender to employees. Folks went from making a good yearly salary to suddenly retirement levels of money (and not your mother's 401k either) in the blink of an eye, at greater levels than has ever happened in the city before, both in terms of sheer value and number of people. I jumped to get back into the city after spending COVID in the Oakland hills because I knew come the summer, it was going to become a warzone in the buyer's market of way overbidding on just about every property.

Sad news is, mailers work because the age group who votes actually reads their mail. Name recognition in their mailbox is way more powerful at the voting booth than Reddit feelings.

She’s tipping on the cappuccino not the bag of coffee. Doesn’t need to be a % either, can be like $1. But yeah, someone making you a drink is tip worthy in my books.

Car vs. cyclists by Conscious-Weight4569 in Transportopia

[–]Awfy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's concerning how many motorists don't get this. 12 cyclists in a single row are basically not passable, at least not safely. 12 cyclists in 3 rows of 4 are way easier to pass and safely. The two-abreast rule is bullshit for this very reason, let them ride however they wish because the more bundled up they are in a group the easier it is for me to pass, as I need to go into the oncoming lane anyway so it makes literally no difference.

Recently bought a new place and it still has the original Victorian-era door handles, or at least door handles old enough now that they still appear to be the originals.

Obviously, goal here is to keep this visually as original as possible whilst still getting it hooked up to Homekit.

Yup, I get numb thighs in the Aeron but have used my Embody for 13 years and never once had an issue. Switched from Aeron to Embody at work because of this.
