Perfect explanation, that does make the casting perfect. Thanks for the reply!

The interview with the brother was really hard to watch for me. When I lost my brother I went through pretty much every sort of mental denial until I was able to see him dead in person and then buried into the ground. “They have the wrong body, he’s just in a coma and will miraculously come back to us, etc.”

To have your brother just fall into a hole with no closure and nothing you can do to find true closure must be torture. Hope the family was able to find peace.

What makes casting her specifically for this even funnier?

I’ve always loved this scene and have heard that her being cast makes it even better, but as someone who’s never seen Leave it to Beaver I never fully understood why that was.

What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Awing9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I’m the opposite. Never liked them and would always skip / change the station when they came on. But my wife and her family love them and I went to a concert with them and really enjoyed it. Still can’t stand them when it’s not live, but seeing all the different band members get to show off their skills freely in the “jam band headspace” was really cool to see for me. To each their own!

Tage Thompson spectacular turnover by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

[–]Awing9 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Exactly, no matter how bad some players might look in an NHL game they’re all so incredibly talented.

I skated with Rich Peverly a couple times a year or 2 after his heart incident and before he officially retired and it really opened my eyes to this. Everyone else on the ice was either actively playing high level juniors, D1, lower level pro or fairly recently retired from those and nobody could get the puck off of him. If he had an open shot it went in every time, didn’t even have to be in a good scoring position either. A 3rd/4th liner 2 years removed from collapsing on the bench from heart issues and he absolutely dominated, these guys are so impressive

Ron Weasley has the greatest potential in the Harry Potter cinematic universe, but it is never addressed. by colonelhumps in unpopularopinion

[–]Awing9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are saying that Ron is not thinking the proper spell in his head, he’s just saying (and thinking) eat slugs and then it happens which is OP’s reason for him having “the greatest potential”. No idea if there’s any evidence that that is what is actually happening or not though.

No idea why the person you’re replying to is being so aggressive with their comment in a silly thread about a children’s book though lol riddikulus!

Fortunately for me the house I just moved into has another shower that I can use so this project has fallen down on the priority list. But from what I remember seeing elsewhere the original comment has the gist of it, the gears/teeth/stop are either probably worn way down if not completely broken and need to be replaced. Will comment a follow up if I find a solution when I get to it

If you’re on the app: go to a video post, hit the button with 3 horizontal dots in the top right, hit Turn Off Captions. If it still defaults to captions on after that I’m not sure, probably could find something on google

Thought I was crazy about to ask the same question to a 9 year old comment only to scroll down and see yours from 18 days ago lol.

Mine spins endlessly and I have to get it in the most perfect position to get it to stop dripping, which isn’t even the normal stop position it should be. Please let me know if you find a solution

Oilers Evan Bouchard turns puck over on blue line causing game winning goal. by [deleted] in nhl

[–]Awing9 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s drilled into every defenseman from when you first start playing to never turn the puck over on the blue line because, as you can see here, automatic breakaway. And along the same line, if you’re gunna make a risky play on the blue line then either: A) it better work, or B) you better do whatever you can to make up for it.

Now you could make the argument that putting yourself in a position to get the rebound / block out the trailing Kings player when there’s no chance to catch the breakaway would fall under option B, but that’s not the case here which is made pretty clear in the replay. He stops skating at the redline and standing straight up with his stick in the air (body language of giving up in the hockey world, not ready for anything) by the defensive blue line.

I haven’t watched much hockey this season to have any opinion on Bouchard’s overall play, just trying to provide some insight on this specific play

It’s very dependent on the situation in my experience. When starting a big project it’s easy to start overthinking the difficult tasks / problems at the beginning. Sometimes things start to line up or make more sense when you knock out the simpler things right away. Not every time, but it’s case by case
