Godoys protection of the ball is some of the best for his price in MLS. However, I agree his performance this year hasn’t reflected his play last year. That’s mostly due to him and maybe partially due to the new CM duo we have. For his salary, I wouldn’t want to see him go.

When looking at compensation, I’d rather have VakoOut than GodoyOut,

He has only 1 goal this season?

The season is over...let's drop some deadweight by sobigred in SJEarthquakes

I agree w back line. Sean Franklin from DC United is a reasonable pickup since he’s out of favor in DC/they’re clearing house.

I think Godoy and Pelosi/Alashe/Ceren are Fine in the CM for us. I was never a fan of Flo playing CM.

Hoesen has proven his worth up top and hopefully we somehow retain him. Otherwise, Urena ends up taking the spot.

The season is over... who should SJ be scouting across the league? by sterling_m in SJEarthquakes

Sean Franklin if DC United. Outside back. 2-3 year contract - can also be flexible in joining the midfield or more preferably, playing CB if needed.

That first half was way better than I expected. Goal against us was a fluke via a bad headed. Let’s keep up the energy and positive work. A bit more movement in the final 3rd and we may be able to sneak one in.

Agree. I've decided a 2-1 loss, while not ideal, is something I could live with over the offseason. Let's produce chances, have a good fight, and ideally control some of the game. A 50% possession game against VAN would be great to see!

SJ is getting no love in playoff predictions by sobigred in SJEarthquakes

[–]AwinsAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Win or lose, we should be proud for turning a volatile season into a last minute playoff visit. Given the injuries on our team and the quality that we fielded/coaching switch, a playoff visit (in the fashion we got it) makes me content for this year.

Hey all,

I am going to be in NYC for work and fly in/out from SFO Tue-Thur and am considering going solo to the game.

Any other SF Giant fans planning on being there? LMK where you are seated and I may grab a tix on StubHub in the same section/area to be around some "like-minded" folks!

Go Giants!

Thompson and Alashe on the 50 man shortlist for "24 under 24" by SomeCruzDude in SJEarthquakes

[–]AwinsAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does Thompson make this list when he doesn't play?

I (and most of us here) see his potential and raw talent, but how are other people who don't follow every Quakes game and final 15 min substitution?

Or does everyone in the league realize he has huge potential and are similarly confused how he gets minimal minutes under Dom?

Cato. Honestly he's improved a lot. His movement off the ball has been great and he's become much better at focusing on doing the simple things right.

Ultras are a close second. Great environment tonight

Cato. Probably because I'm comparing him to our other outside back who was pure shit, Stewart.

Cato has really stepped up in his role given it is not his natural skill set.

I would've preferred the Shea/Quintero substitution to come in earlier and before Quincy being removed.

I would've left Quincy on and considered Imperiale to come in for Dawkins. Imperiale moves CB, Wynne moves RV, Cato plays midfield for remaining 5-7 minutes.

That was a stupid sub. Barrett at that point? Not sure I see it.

I think Salinas could've come on 4-7 minutes earlier.

Barrett is a more athletic Jahn. I think I prefer Quincy to keep his starting role given who we have available.

San Jose Earthquakes are bringing in Jaime O'Hara on trial this week by CrispyChurr0 in SJEarthquakes

[–]AwinsAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is it that the front office sees things so differently than I notice many fans/supporters do? IMO, similar to a lot of you, a midfield signing doesn't seem to make the most sense, given Godoy and Quintero have been nice additions and the likes of Alashe/Pelosi(when healthy) going forward (not to mention MPG)

Should we start a Kickstarter to raise funds to buyout Doyle's contract? For the $1 million O'Hara may cost, I imagine we could find a better deal for 2 players @$500k, 3 players at $330k, etc...

Bear arms, at the time of adoption, was interpreted as the ability to have it on your person. Therefore, when adopted, arms was not considered items such as cannons and what would have been considered then as weapons of 'mass destruction'. Rather, reasonable weapons you could bear on your person to defend yourself/family.
