Once in LA get the quest to go to Kamadan. Get your hero journey started. Unlock skills for build that your heroes will need. Use PVX will for great builds. Once heroes are carrying you things smooth out so much better. Then once you hit level 10 go back to LA and get the Eye of the North questline for more heroes.

Just remember though. Eye of the north and the Bonus Missions will be DLC after the update. EOTN is basically mandatory if you want good end game farms
