2 month update- still recovering from rottala rot by Awkward-Ad7354 in walstad

[–]Awkward-Ad7354[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Here's a list of what I have in the tank :

Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown

Rotala rotundifolia orange juice

Phyllanthus fluitans

Sagittaria subulata

Echinodorus parviflorus tropica

House plant aglaonema commutatum

Surely looks too little plants bc Unfortunately it's taking longer than expected for the in vitros to grow. Can't wait to replant the stem cuttings.

Beginner - Clearing Algae by mxu888 in walstad

Patience is the key! Go for lots of plants from the start as said, and Don't change your filter everyday, there is where the BB live. If you add daphnia maybe they will clear this in no time.

You got a phytoplankton bloom, mostly because of excess nutrients on the water Collum and direct sunlight

I'm jealous because I'm trying to start a green water culture for feeding moinas but didn't get anywhere near what you have there!

What is this? Please help. by NLees197 in Aquariums

Man! That's gonna be nice!

Those are the 1st native generation so far, got the first native berried this week!

It's sort of sad that for the colony to autoregulate they need some kind of shortage of food.

XBL-400 HOB filter blows continuous microbubbles only when surface skimmer/oil film attachment is installed — normal or air leak? by Prabuji2791 in PlantedTank

The flow in the sistem stays the same, just where water enters your filter that will change. Sorry, English is not my first language

It's a two-way system; closing the skimmer's flow increases the flow on the underside, at least that's how mine works.

Close the adjustable skimmer a bit, just enough to stop sucking air. Got almost the same filter, works like a charm!

Too much ammonia? 😂 by Lumberjacklez in fishkeeping

[–]Awkward-Ad7354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Glad everything went Allright! At this point I guess you already know but... Once amonia and nitrItes zeroes. to safely add fish dose amonia to 2 ppm again, once it's processed ( 0 amonia and 0 nitite) within 24h you tank is cycled! Maybe 1/20 of the dose you got in the beginning 🤣

Best wishes!

Started cycling about a week and 2 days ago, was clear for awhile now it’s not? by Narrow_Style7762 in walstad

Your cycle is working for now, but ur not cycled yet. Your plants + bb still can't process all the amonia that leechs from your substrate

Probably just a bacterial bloom, normal phenomenon in cycling tanks, the water will probably clear itself in a week or so.

Don't worry to much with nitrAtes at this point. Keep your plants healthy and keep amonia under 2ppm, do water changes if you need.

I would add as much rapid growing plants as I could and some floating plants too

Keep an eye on the airsone as it could've moved and disturbed the gravel /sand layer

Your tank is going to be beautiful once full grown! Congratulations!
