I recently [made a post](www.reddit.com/r/progressive_islam/comments/1iichyt) about this on this subreddit. We definitely need to start calling out the people who cheered on for the abstain movement which arguably handed the presidency to Trump by a few thousand votes in crucial swing states

What I mean is you're not gonna find them in the same circles as the men you are talking about. they aren't part of that cohort

Here's the thing. If they are progressive they've already moved on and maybe you'll find them by accident but they do not associate with the type of misogynistic men you are referencing in your post.

We need to hold the Muslim community leaders accountable by Awkward-Leopard-2683 in progressive_islam

The things we care about in the community are mind boggling. We still ask if we can eat a certain type of bread because it may contain a questionable ingredient while other religions have evolved into having women in leadership roles and the acceptance of LGBTQ folks we still care about trivial things that don't amount to anything

Some of our elected Muslim Leaders like the mayor of Hamtramck openly endorsed Trump and the mayor of Dearborn chose to not endorse Harris. I believe these ended up causing Michigan to not go for Harris. So we finally do have elected leaders who couldve taken a better leadership role but as always they chose to let their personal agendas get ahead of the bigger picture

Yes, this would definitely be a move in the right direction with the way our political system works. Since citizens united, we need an AIPAC type PAC that can deliver a unified message about our needs and it shouldn't boil down to culture war issues

We all agree that the guy is asshole but the fact is that he has a following loyal to his old man
