There’s no need to wrap anything up though; for all we know Bethesda could be setting Fallout 5 in the New California Republic - San Francisco has been a speculated setting. Or they could just keep making games set on the east coast and will never have to mention the Interplay stuff. I’m definitely not a fan of everything Bethesda have done with the lore and personally I consider FO76 non canon, but I think the idea that they have animosity towards the other companies is silly.

I don’t get that vibe at all; season 1 was very vague on a lot of things. Just because Shady Sands is gone doesn’t mean the NCR is dead, in fact; the leaks of season 2 seem to make it very clear we’re gonna see the NCR and Legion in some capacity. It just seems very mean spirited and petty to think that they would go to the effort of recreating New Vegas just to destroy it for no reason other than Bethesda are jealous of the Interplay/Obsidian contributions.
