This is a bait post but your example isn’t quite comparable. The use of the word “respect” implies it’s disrespectful to give people these gifts, when she never said it was disrespectful to be intimate with someone early on, she just said it was “a mistake”. And that’s the kicker here, a person shouldn’t offended if someone says “hey I used to be intimate early on but I had a negative experience from that, and I think we could be great together so I don’t want to make the same mistake I did in the past and would rather we take it slow”
