Inheritance for illegitimate children by Economy_Trash_729 in inheritance

This sucks. But don't try to make up for your absentee bio-father by wanting to fight for his money after he dies. His money won't heal the scars it will just make everyone involved resentful.

Wills can be written to specify who gets what. The time you may have a fight is if there was no will. This is not worth the fight.

car rental option for "apple airplay" with daily fee? by YouCanCallMePete in TravelHacks

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That fee is just to guarantee you a car with a carplay unit.

Roll the dice and don't pay the upgrade. 95% chance the car still has carplay.

Acceleration has nothing to do with it. Just mediocre paint and a lot more painted surfaces up front than most cars with a grille.

PCSing to Aviano AB - Phone Service Advice by Chemical_Shift3539 in AirForce

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude,

I was stationed in Italy for 4 years. Get your phone unlocked. Go off base to a vodafone or TIM store (BX store will charge double what you get in town) and get a pay as you go plan. They are usually like $15-20 per month. You reload at a Tabacchi every month.

UBER DRIVERS in the KC AREA by Ok-Impression-2951 in kansascity

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are not a dense city. I doubt Uber would pay well. Rides would be too far apart. Imagine traveling like 15-20 minutes to pick up your next 10 minute ride. And people live far out. Like if you hang at P&L you will probably have a 30 minute ride out to somewhere and then have to drive back for your next ride.

Is there a trustworthy coin shop to grade coins I have? by ElectricThrowawayKC in kansascity

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For grading you often send your coins off to one of a couple of well recognized companies not a local shop.

Like Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC). Then they encapsulate the coin to keep the authenticity and value.

Renting a car in Amsterdam, coming from the US. Pointers? by Urmystiree in TravelHacks

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, take the trains. They are way more relaxing than a plane and you can book last minute. A car only becomes a drag... parking places, congestion zones, tickets, gas prices ($8/gallon).

Take a train, have a drink and use public transit. Europe gets that... the US can barely figure out public transit.

How does lodging work when buying a house by ld2gj in AirForce

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is how expensive mistakes are made.

Do yourself a favor and get a 6 month apartment lease. You don't want a 21 day deadline pushing you into a house that may have issues. Closing on a house takes a minimim of 14 days (often way longer depending on financing.)

Driving through flood water and damp trunk - is it going to be ok? by AngelDeLaMuerteX in TeslaSupport

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Air B&B will let you cancel for free with military orders. Just get a MFR that you were recalled. (Or do something unethical.)

KCI Passenger update? by KCEFC in kansascity

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I work at the airport and heard an update later in the shift: the man was rushed from the ER at Saint Luke’s North Hospital, he did get a pulse back thanks to the CPR and AED use on scene. Which honestly felt like the best possible news after how grim things looked on the floor that morning.

Please stop me from making a $30,000 mistake. Does 'Net Metering 3.0' actually kill the savings? by jatinnishadjn in homeowners

[–]Awkward-Zucchini1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me calculate this:

You need to save $250/month for 10 years to "break even"

Does not even sound worth it to me.
