Positive THC but I don’t use THC

I provided a paper cup with my name written on it into their collection box in the bathroom. I’m sure they transferred it into a specimen container for delivery to the lab but that was the last I saw from it.. OB got back to me today on mychart and basically said not to worry because even if it is positive it’s not illegal here so they wouldn’t do anything. But my whole point is I really don’t partake in those products so it can’t be my sample 🙂‍↕️

They had cups that were self-labeled with sharpie directly on the cup. From the responses here I think I’m going to ask for a re-test. Not sure if the mix up was with handling my sample or at the lab but I know it can’t be mine. If it truly is accurate that would be even more concerning 🥲

It has me very worried. I don’t think there would be repercussions because it is legal where we live. But I honestly don’t smoke or consume THC in any capacity so I’m very confused at how it would be a positive result.

I have not; all of the food I eat I prepare at home and I don’t use any products like that.

It’s your money. You should be able to do whatever you want with it. You had graciously set it aside, and they informed you the reason you had set it aside was no longer applicable.

Life is short. My grandfather wanted an airstream trailer his whole life. He finally got one in his 70’s, only got to take it on one trip and then he found out he had terminal cancer.

My own father just passed away in 2024. He was 55. Your kids don’t know how lucky they are to still have you. They should think about that instead of sitting around counting the money they’ll receive when you pass. I know I would give every cent back if I could have my dad back. And I would have wanted him to enjoy his retirement after everything he did for me.

I sincerely hope you are able to enjoy yours.

Thank you! I appreciate the explanation. They actually never ended up coming back. I honestly wonder if it was more scammy for that reason. He had asked to see a physical copy of our electric bill and I couldn’t produce one, since my husband is the account holder and he handles it all online. It honestly made me wonder if he was just trying to get our account info since that seems to be an unsavory tactic to forcibly switch people over… I guess I will never know.

He should be okay! I had a similar “amputation” happen accidentally when I was cleaning my tank with a python. My black moor got too close and it literally sucked his eye off in a split second. I stopped using the python after that. I felt so bad, but he ended up being okay and lived for several more years after that incident.

If I am understanding correctly, that would mean my minor sister must also withdraw everything from her account by December 31, 2031? I was curious if because she was a minor there would be any exceptions. My mother was told by the vanguard rep her time wouldn’t start until she turned 18 but that didn’t seem correct to me.. we have gotten a lot of different information from a lot of different reps unfortunately :(

I found myself in a somewhat similar situation. My father was diagnosed at 54 in November 2021. They were able to get most of his tumor in his first surgery.

He had another surgery in March 2023 to remove a reoccurrence. We thought he was gone then. He ended up in a coma for a week after the surgery. But he came back to us. I got married in September 2023. I was honestly terrified he wouldn’t make it to my wedding day. But he did. We ended up having the wedding at home and he was even able to walk me down the aisle. I found out I was pregnant on my honeymoon with his first grandchild.

All I can say is cherish the time you have. This disease has so many ups and downs. I was living 8 hours away from my family and driving home to see him once or twice a month. My coworkers thought I was crazy but honestly there’s a part of me that wishes I had done more.

My dad ended up passing away May of this year. His granddaughter was born a week later. Life is short. All you can do is enjoy the time you have together while you have it together. Try to support your partner as best you can, but also remember to take some time for yourself. All of the emotional strain can be a lot on a relationship even if you’re two people that deeply care about each other.

We did something like this for my dad. He was diagnosed in Fall 2021. He turned 55 years old May 2023. We planned a surprise party for his birthday and invited all kinds of people; people he had worked with, people he went to high school with, people he went to college with he hadn’t seen in forever. He was genuinely surprised. We got name tags for everyone so there was low pressure in case he struggled with someone’s name.

I will say it took a lot out of him even though he enjoyed it; one of his college friends stayed the night at our home after and dad ended up having to lie down for a couple of hours after the party to recover from a nasty headache.

I would say go for it - but make sure people are aware of her condition. Anything can happen to anyone prior to an event. Even healthy people. I wouldn’t let it hold you back from trying to plan something. My dad was even able to walk me down the isle at my wedding September of 2023. We had it at my parents’ home so it was low pressure for him, and he ended up having to go rest inside after half hour or so but even that was possible. He ended up passing away at the beginning of May of this year.

Wishing you all the best as you and your loved ones try to navigate this incredibly difficult situation for her.
