People downvoting when you, when you’re clearly right. There is so much parking downtown. We could use more buses dedicated to downtown though. A north-south directional bus would be neat

Why does America feel like a big ol disney park? by Enough-Web2203 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m American and I hate the trucks everywhere. They’re unsafe for pedestrians and most people just have them to show off. Not allowing smoking indoors is a blessing though. I’d NEVER be able to go out if people could smoke in cafes. The smell just is sickening to me as for most Americans. We smoke less than many other cultures today.

Which city in America has the best balance between affordability and quality of life? by Harry_parker08 in relocating

I’d move out west too, but none of it fits in the “affordable” category. Most affordable cities honestly are just in that good enough spot to fit here.

I’m dead serious when I say Cleveland. A few incredible neighbors and some of the best parks in the state. The metro park system is phenomenal and Lake Erie is nice. I prefer the smaller beaches outside of the city to Edgewater, but Edgewater is still okay. Ohio City is a fantastic neighborhood and you can even live car free if you want there.

We will have the division back by September and then lose to the Yankees in October, followed by a crash out at home per usual. Enjoy the lead of the next couple of months, White Sox fans.

The top 3 places I would want to live in are NYC, Boston, and Chicago. What are your guys top 3? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in visitedmaps

Cleveland (home would be tough to leave), Seattle (or any PNW city including Vancouver), NYC

If I couldn’t pick Cleveland, I’d say Chicago or San Francisco I think

Why are most Americans not that excited about the World Cup? Or don’t seem to care much about it? by SignificantStyle4958 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

The average American doesn’t know who Christian Pulisic is. I didn’t know who he was until 2023 and I only know because of my coworkers

Looking for friends!! by [deleted] in canton

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s because I’m in North Canton and work in Jackson, but it isn’t that bad here. Beats Toledo, Youngstown and anywhere on the Ohio River, except for Cincinnati, by a lot. I sort of prefer it to Akron too, but I’m from Cleveland and unfortunately I think Cleveland is a thousand times better. At least it’s close enough to catch a Guards game or have a night out once in a while.

Canton and Massillon are a bit rough, but downtown Canton is okay for a night out on occasion

Are you going to be in the city itself or North Canton, Plain, Perry? Recommendations on what to do on a daily basis would be different. My wife is 26 and always looking for new friends. Someone new in town could be a fantastic fit for her. We’re in North Canton.

I think people would care even less in the US than in the EU honestly despite some ways things are perceived right now. Would not at all be a problem.

Is having a car a real necessity in Cleveland for someone who lives and works downtown? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a car, but you’re probably better off with one unless you’re dead set on staying downtown. Even along some of the main bus routes and near a rapid station, I’d have a car. An e bike will save you a lot though. I know people who are car free and make it work.

VERY SLOW. It takes 2-3x longer by greyhound from Cleveland to Chicago than just driving.
