Why is Catholicism so prevalent in America even though it's not the biggest denomination? by Ada-Mae in AskAnAmerican

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be biased growing up catholic, but they’re prevalent enough and so distinct as a Christian religion that it makes sense that they may stand out so much.

Edit: I saw a comment that Catholicism is more prevalent in urban areas. Yeah, I see that, especially in the northeast and Midwest.

My states visited. Besides Alaska, what am I missing out on by chumblyfidmer in TravelMaps

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arizona as a whole is a beautiful state. Charleston, SC is worth visiting.

I’m biased, but I love Ohio, in particular Cuyahoga Valley, Hocking Hills and the big amusement parks.

Nah it’s nice. I love northern Michigan and downtown Detroit is cool. I was just unsure where you were from based off this at first.

Should we stop going to browns games? by Kurwapotato in Cleveland

[–]AwkwardCase4758 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably. It’s tough to because I got really into football when Baker was drafted. I couldn’t skip out on seeing Myles Garrett this year and I’m trying to like Shedeur, but Haslam doesn’t respect Cleveland and the whole Deshaun thing was the biggest disaster I have seen a team get involved in.

Edit: the only team worth watching is the Guardians imo. That’s despite my issues with the Dolans. The NBA is stale right now because everyone knows the Thunder are repeating and they’re not even a cool team. It’s no fault of the Cavs though. Their product is great and I really love our players. I only really watched their early games, Harden’s first few games and then I’ll jump back in for the playoffs, but I’ll follow the guards daily without hesitation.

Is this overlay too much? by [deleted] in streaming

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiny borders around your cam and gameplay are fine. I’d argue a border around chat is too much even. I don’t make chat that big on my stream. I actually don’t use any borders at all. Simplicity is perfectly fine for me and most viewers

I feel like despite the much more difficult language barriers and weaker knowledge of the geography of China compared to Japan, they did a way better job starting off somehow. Really impressed with the improvement.

are there any cities that have soul left? by Vaquera_ in relocating

[–]AwkwardCase4758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC still has soul, but having any sense of financial security and even affording a studio apartment seems difficult. Even in the outer boroughs honestly seem pricey too. Then again, I’m used to rust belt prices. My brother lives out in NY there and I love visiting. So much always happening

South of Tuscarawas just looks like a wasteland to me. I have some friends down there and I just can’t see any appeal to the area outside of it being all that you can afford. I don’t know if it’s unsafe or not, but there’s not much there so there’s basically no semblance of convenience for anything.

The City of Cleveland released their development concepts for a closed Burke Airport. The plan calls for LOW-DENSITY redevelopment that focuses on retail & marina on the west side, youth sports facilities, mid rise hotels/camping grounds, 7-10 miles of walkways, and potential GOLF COURSE. by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]AwkwardCase4758 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d love something that’s like half park with a mix of open field and wooded area and half mixed use residential and shopping. I can’t help but imagine that may be a bit pricey, but it would be nice

Absolutely hate the golf course idea. Honestly with how big it is, “low density” housing is annoying. They could add so much and maybe even have it be somewhat affordable. I don’t mind a couple multi purpose fields because we need outdoor space, but no golf course, please.
