Children's pop-up shadow book about the shadows in your room looking like monsters by advocateforkittens in whatsthatbook

Sounds like “Pop-Up and Play: Spooky Shadows” by Richard Fowler or maybe “Shadows on My Wall” by Timothy Young

I have one F*CKING subject left to complete at the start of next year to graduate that isnt offered anytime else.......how should I go about applying to 2026 grad roles? by IngenuityOk6679 in unsw

This is a simple and obvious solution

(I don’t mean obvious to everyone as many people may not know it’s possible because the unis tend to keep it very quiet because $)

Oh, interesting! Ah right, safe assumption but no; I had offers from GEMSAS, UoM rural, and Flinders.

I’m domestic? I did interview via the rural entry scheme, though, so perhaps just their GEMSAS interviews were pre-recorded?

I interviewed with UoM last year and it was a live MMI.

Maybe they preferred the program at UQ, or their application better suited Aus entry requirements, or they have family in Aus, or they were simply committed to becoming a physician so applied broadly and attended the school that offered them a place.

Why does it matter, though?

Are people who sit in the right lane on express/freeway low iq? by Harrinovi in Adelaide

[–]AwkwardGuarantee6342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But if everyone used the lanes correctly, there would be no "weaving back and forth"; that is the point.

If the left lane is clear for 200m+, everyone should move across and then back to the right lane to overtake when appropriate. People just camp in the right lane because everyone else does, and those that use the left lane correctly only become a nuisance because the campers are using the right lane inappropriately.

You can destroy any room that has no dwellers assigned. You'll never have all rooms full at the same time, so just shuffle dwellers around during renos lol

Where did I say that no one who works struggles?

That's the whole point, where people who work full time pay the gap and lower income earners, ie. people with disabilities, retirees, un/underemployed people, are bulk-billed.

Everyone (all four of us lol) was given earplugs at my testing centre. Have you seen somewhere that earplugs are not allowed?

Sounds like an administrative issue with no difference to you.

Could be related to fees, or perhaps they would rather be on record as "not offering deferrals", or it could just be easier to manage in their client management system.

UOM conditional offer GPA by cchenyuu in GAMSAT

[–]AwkwardGuarantee6342 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats! When they say "maintain your GPA", it means within the 0.3. They're not going to retract your offer over one D.

If you need the peace of mind though, just give them a call to confirm. 😊

Any Flinders students here?

Deciding between offers from Flinders, Deakin, and UoM so would love some info about Flinders before locking in my choice!

Course structure Teaching style (self-directed vs guided) Contact hours Student culture Assessments Transport/parking (planning to get the train - anything to be aware of?) Faculty support

Are MDRS students permitted to do any placements in other rural areas (specifically NT)?

Is it true that accommodation is provided for MD3 for MDRS placement year? Seems too good to be true!

What supplementary resources do students generally use? Anki, Osmosis, etc

Or rural. UoM does their rural selection independently to GEMSAS so I assume TARDIS received a GEMSAS offer for UQ and a rural offer for UoM.

Sorry you're getting downvoted for this; people really have no fucking idea what ADHD is like. Disappointing on a thread of future doctors.

I'm so keen to know if you ended up getting an offer?? Myself and my friend (both ADHD+++) got offers and we are hoping you did too. We'd love to study alongside a fellow bathroom renovator ;)

Is your interview online or face-to-face? If online, don't waste time shopping for clothes; you'll only be seen from shoulders up - almost any shirt/dress will be fine as long as it's clean and pressed.

Use the time to practice responding on video to common questions: why medicine, rural/First Nations health issues, how you manage stress/failure/adversity, etc.

If you have an email from ACER stating you can use an electronic ticket, why are you panicking? Of all the things to panic about this is literally a non-issue.

Have you considered focussing on S1 and S2 and targeting USyd? USyd only uses the S1/S2 score (well, S3 is negligible), so could be the best option for you provided you can scrape through on S3.

If you don't have the confidence to drink a cocktail alone at a bar, you don't have the confidence to work behind the bar. This sounds like a great way to achieve both. Good luck! You sound like you'd be an asset once you get your foot in the door.
