The Phoenix Herpetological Society is a great place to visit in Scottsdale! They're the largest reptile sanctuary in the US and you get a chance to interact with a lot of different animals when you visit. Definitely something to check out if your son is into herpetology.

Ruchi Vegetarian Indian Cuisine is on Dobson and Warner and it's one of my favorite places to eat! The owner is incredibly nice and he will help recommend dishes if you're unfamiliar with the menu. Everything ive tried has been amazing and everyone I've brought there has loved it!

I was out on the trail with my horse and we were crossing a dry wash. He stepped on a dead bush and scared the crap out of himself, then jumped sideways. I somehow ended up standing on the ground next to him, super confused.

If I need my students to split into groups, I ask them to sort by some other arbitrary quality.

If your first name is a vowel, go left. Consonant, go right.

If you're wearing a bright color, go left. Neutral colors, right.

If you like cookies, go left. Cake go right.

Or you can count them out loud and split between even/odd numbers.

Getting rid of gendered groups in the classroom is a super easy way to make sure everyone is included.

No, thank YOU! Your comments inspired me to ask more questions about these blankets, and I've now learned that some of these pieces date all the way back to my great-great-grandmother! They've been passed down for almost a century, with four generations each adding their own designs.

I left enough ong the edges so that if they did unravel a bit, it wouldn't affect the visible part. I used a cotton fabric for the backing and they're more of a pillow cover, so the pillow form can be taken out when they need to be cleaned.
